I forgot to mention this. I was on field for the pre-game party thing last weekend and Alecko jogs by and says "What's up?" Luckily I restrained and didn't say "my foot in your ass for that redcard v Columbus!"
Re: Re: Re: oh my.... "Never go in against United, when death is on the line!" Ooops, should that be "victory"? Maybe not. Muerte o victoria!
Okay, this is off-topic but you're saying you saw the aurora last night? Oh, only 26 hours to go. I keep telling myself I'm not nervous. I lie.
Prediction first leg: DCU 2 Chicago 1 second leg: DCU 0 Chicago 2 The flamers win . Is this game going to be on ESPN? I live in Pheonix and obviously can't go.
No Dema wil get a yellow but he won't lose it. That's a very popular- and untrue- misconception about Dema: that he goes postal, Intense, yes. Postal, no. But you can bet the house that some Fire players will lose it because of The Demanator's attitude.
How about a chant that goes like "We got the extinguishers!!". Fairly crude but I think people who usually dont chant could get the words pretty quickly.
bad luck.... On second thought, maybe a better idea to keep the chants positive minded- good for karma sake. I have never enjoyed taking the field for any competition where supporters were giving away fuel for the opposition, and "Piss on the Fire" is a sure bet to do just that. You know, I've sat amongst the SE's off and on for the better part of 4 years now, and have yet to hear any pure military-style chants. Just a curious observation. If someone can't come up with one in time for today's (YIKES!! little over 18 hours to go) game, suggest we come up with a chant that's both proud and menacing at declaring we are DC UNITED, something with a bit more edge than say ACDC's Back in Black. I must once again urge the group of drummer's to pay attention to the game, and be timely with the chants they get behind. Better to pick up what the crowd is saying than put your head down to bang away. And how's about for fun, we get the sections to do some sort of call and answer going? Something along the lines of college color cries (Ours would be one side Black, the other Red for example) to let the rest of the crowd get into it.Acoustics make it tough to do, but maybe one day with a little effort we could pull it off.
I don't know why but I've got this gut feeling that DC United is gonna win this one. The reason for this feeling I do not know. Indeed, I can come up with all sorts of reasons for saying that DC United shouldn't win. The list of reasons in DC United's favor is considerably shorter. But nonetheless, there it is ... For no apparent reason at all I've got a hunch that Chicago is gonna lose.
From the Washington Post, it says the players posted some comments by Razov (maybe others, it doesn't say) about our players in the locker room. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A48919-2003Oct31.html We seem to be responding nicely. I like us being the underdog with something to prove. Anyone else getting that warm tingly feeling?
*#*#*#*#, its only 10am. i have gone to the gym, the store, marinated the meat, bought beer, bought jamesons. i am so damn excited but it is still 5 hours until i can leave. well it must be after 5 somewhere...
I have that same feeling. In a way, I wish I got off work at 6:00 instead of 5:00. More time to kill before the game! Guess I'll just have to drink...
