Re: Official Cornell Glen Thread "Glen wins bragging rights in T&T victory" (Wednesday, 8/12/09) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Hoping for Glen to have a great, injury free, goal scoring season. We need our strikers to come through for us.
"Quakes hoping for breakout from fit Glen" (Monday, 8/2/10) (Getty Images) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Fat is the new fit! Haven't you heard? I have to say that I love how the idiot TV announcers keep saying that Glen is so fast, and RJ is fast and strong. Both of them look like they are wearing cement boots out there. Glen at least has a good shot, and he sometimes gets into really dangerous places, like on his goal against the Onions. That was great. We just need to see that two or three times a games. Even if he doesn't score every game, I want him taking shots that give opposing keepers nightmares. Oh and "hoping" really describes the Quakes strategy this season. Hope that Convey will be better. (Scored on that one!) Hope that ALM will hold up all season. Hope that Eduardo is the target forward we've been needing. Hope that Robles is a great player. Hope that RJ maintains his scoring form of last season. Hope that Glen finds his mojo. Hope, hope, hope. GO QUAKES!! 6-5-5 so far ... - Mark
If Glen can stay on side more often, he gets more scoring chances. Sometimes he is able to control the ball well around the box to create a shooting opportunity. However, there are also times he mishandles the ball or his run in a very comical way. Like all our current forwards, I don't mind Glen to be a sub or occasional starter. He just should not be our regular starter, and also winning ball in the air is not his game.
I bet RJ is in the bottom quarter of our team for speed, even counting goal keepers. And he's about as strong as wet toilet paper. And we know why it's wet.
I'm pretty firmly convinced that on ANY other MLS team, both Glen and RJ would be spending a lot of time collecting splinters in their butts...
Cornell Glen is currently 4th in MLS in offsides fouls, despite playing only 635 minutes so far this season.
I think he's currently in first for "Misses a shot and falls down on the ground, lowers his head, pounding his hands on the ground" though.
What a bad night. You know its bad after missing your hattrick of chances, you miss a fourth and the announcer says, "He's having a good night."
Shep and company probably have never seen him play or rather, have never seen him miss chance after chance.....
