America is officially in. As of today, San Luis and Jaguares are in, that can change if they stumble. Tigres, Pachuca, and Pumas still have a shot.
the top three teams in the apertura minus the teams playing in concacaf qualify to Libertadores, the 4 teams that cannot play libertadores are of course Cruz Azul, Monterrey, Santos and Toluca. 1. Cruz Azul 2. Monterrey 3. Santos 4. America 5. San Luis 6. Chiapas
America, San Luis, Jaguares.. are in. As long as they don't embarrass us, I'm ok with it. I would haved liked Cruz Azul in.. They would have the best chance. ..
Yeah but take into consideration they play lazy and with many subs in concacaf champions league. The hunger to win is not the same in ccl, in libertadores you want to kick some south american ass that can actually be competitive. At least the crappy refs in concacaf are better than the shitty cheating suraca refs

u reading too many spazzo threads? where the fk you get that from?? We always have 3 teams, before that we only had 2, last year was the only year we had 5, and it was bcuz of some dumbshit...
FMF Rules Anybody know the answer to this one? The top three FMF Apertura teams qualify for the Libertadores, besides the four clubs that are already competing in the CONCACAF Champions League. But since the Champions League starts in the Fall, it's possible that a Mexican club could be in the Champions League, but get eliminated before the end of the Apertura. If that happens, and they end up in the top 3, do they get to do Libertadores? Or since they WERE in the Champions League, does their slot automatically go to the next team down (even though they're out)? I checked out the history of the CONCACAF tournament, and no Mexican team has ever been knocked out in the preliminaries or the group stage, so this has never been an issue. But does anyone know what WOULD happen? (Please don't post a definitive answer unless you know what you're talking about.)
The teams that are selected to go to champions go to champions, and the ones selected for Libertadores, go there, regardless of where they get knocked off.. period.... ..
Are you sure? If so - how do you know? Consider this fictitious (but possible) example... DEC 2010 Santos Laguna is runner-up for Aperutra 2010 - automatic bid in Champions League 2011 OCT 2011 Santos gets knocked out of CCL '11 in the group stage DEC 2011 Santos finishes third in Apertura 2011 - automatic bid to Libertadores 2012 So you're saying they don't get to go? Even though their Spring schedule is clear, since they're not in CCL anymore?
Dude ... I'm happy to listen to Nopal. Most people don't realize how complicated the selection/qualification process is for many of these tournaments. Probably, Nopal does. There are just too many idiots on these sites spewing random guesses as if they were facts. Probably not Nopal. I just want to understand why he thinks (knows) what he says. To prove my point, here's some interesting trivia for you: How does the FMF decide which teams will play in the SuperLiga each year? (it's not as simple as you might think) And for bonus points: Who cares about the SuperLiga? Thanks a lot, Nopal, for taking the time to answer my questions.
