Different culture and underdeveloped merchandising infrastructure. You will have a hard time finding the jerseys of local teams too.

Which cities did you visit? :)

me i don't care if is fake , why pay 50£ for a shirt that if u buy one in thailande for 10 $ is almoste the same quality and u have the print u wnat for only 1 $ extra. In MU Website de Dong Jersey is over 60£ (print + jersey + shipping). For the same jersey in thailand it cost me 11$ (shirt+ print) + 9$ for shipping that make 20$ and i'll like to wear it even if is a fake. The fake r not a problem, the problem is the price of the real shirt, in asia excepted in Japan and maybe South korea no one can buy a real shirt who cost more than 1 month pay average !!!

Before Glazer bought Man Utd, I felt my purchases were supporting the team.

lucky buy my jersey of MU just before that Guy buy the club, but now in UK especialy, the fan is not see like a guy who r at the stadium for support is team, the pple from administration look at them like a fraking walking wallet who gonna burn is money in the cashier of the team. no more passion just money, that to bad, in france only 3 clubs r like that (Lyon, Marseille and Paris) lets hope that will be like that.

me i don't support team i only support players that i like, and hope they make good performances after if the club is bad i don't care. like ZZ is my favorite player and he was in crappy team, i just hoped he made good performance, after if Charlton lose i really don't care. The only team i ever supported it was United when mr King Cantona was playing there that all, after i support, chineses players overseas, Thierry Henry, Shandong and that it

I'm no expert in tv rights but I believe the way it works is you have one winning bid for a region and that winner then sells it off to the various tv stations. I've read the winning bid for China alone was $50 Million USD (40% more than the ESPN winning bid for SE Asia). The winner then sold the corresponding rights to Shanghai tv, Canton tv, etc. One can argue whether the Chinese players had anything to do with the high amount...

Tours always generate money - you get paid to go, then you get a cut of the tickets. Real Madrid reportly made $12 million USD on 2 summer tours to asia.
Even Celtic generated 2 million pounds in one summer which is almost 4 million usd?

Plus I remember Crystal Palace toured China in the 90s with Fan and Sun, I was at Worker Stadium in the rain and it was 30-40k.

Tours always make money, but is the player fatigue worth it? Plus, tours are supposed to be a rare thing, its not a sustainable profit-generating business.

That Crystal Palace tour you speak of was special at the time, especially with Fan and Sun. Nowadays, everybody comes every year.

That's the reason that it's difficult to generate money from Asian countries, only tours (Peace Cup for PSV as example, the won over 5.000.000 euro's in two year) are a good way to earn some extra money.
In Europe 60$ are a "normal" price for stuff like that, but you're right that it's a big amount of money, even for me :D . But if it's cheaper in Asia, everyone buy a shirt at an Asian website where you can buy shirts, so it's impossible to have a lower price there, and a higher price here unfortunately
You have some good fake copies over there, but I prefer a real shirt;).
Better quality, and you support the team.

You know ... they dont come to the US much anymore... I still remember a few years back I saw Man Utd vs Milan and it was full, then 3 days later i watched Roma vs Lpool and it was 1/5 full but the lpool fans sang you'll never walk alone and it was louder than anything i've ever heard at a sporting event, I guess its experiences like that that keeps fans like myself going back to these tour games.

Less higher profile clubs are coming too. Everton were at Columbus last year, for example.

ZZ is a rubbish just like LI Tie, Xu Younlong, Li Weifeng. They are nothing good. I mean there are many players who can do what ZZ can do. Nothing significant about him really. He is also not young at all. Why don't we invest and put faith in our young squad instead of these rubbish.

Sheffield Utd put Lie Tie up for sale
    tribalfooball.com - May 18, 2007

China international midfielder Li Tie has been put up for sale by Sheffield United.

The former Everton midfielder has struggled for form and fitness this season and was placed on the Blades transfer-list this morning.

Italy's Torino are among European clubs monitoring developments

hahahahaha:D :D 70% sale on the crystal bones Li Tie, is a good opportunity:p
