What was that handball all about? Seriously, is someone holding his family hostage or something? That was ridiculously stupid!

    Go Portugal! Go Angola!

Needs an (R) -- silly, but house rules and all.

Anyhow, MEX gets one back, and it's all for naught anyway if Angola (I almost wrote Togo) can't score, which right now it looks like they won't.

As much as I like our federation (which, incidentially, I don't at all), I'd love to see Mexico fall on their faces. Angola won't get more than 1 on Iran, so Portugal needs to run up the score!!

I am pulling for the Mexicans.

My hate for them is reserved for them against US and the rest of our federation. In the WC a strong Mexico performance only reflects favorably on us.

Our winning reflects favourably upon us. Anything else, I and 99.9% of the population could really care less about.

I can't stand Portugal, but GO PORTUGAL and ANGOLA!!!

Well.....we will destroy Mexico in qualifying again for 2010, but they will once again get the seed instead of us.

I have no problem cheering for Mexico so long as they're not playing against the US. I'd like to see at least one concocaf team advance. If all of our own regional teams don't advance, it doesn't same much for the quality of soccer in our area, does it.

Be a sport, cheer for the tri colors.....

Wow. Portugal completely sleepwalked through the second half. If they would have played like men Mexico could have been going home, but Angola didn't want to advance, or it didn't look like it. They simply gave up after Iran equalized. Utterly forgettable soccer from Portugal and Angola today. (I know Portugal just had pride to play for as they knew they were advancing.)

And you do understand that because Mexico has qualified...if we don't, we will probably lose our seed to Mexico again in 2010?

We won't lose it because we never had it. We have only ourselves to blame if we don't advance. It's not Mexico's problem.

Let me get this straight. Mexico cant beat a 2nd rate european side and the USA ties Italy. Who deserves a seed. USA. End of story. I we win and dont advance we deserve the same consideration as Mexico for the next WC.

    America........F U C K YEAH:

It is Mexicos problem however that we've dominated them since the turn of the century, including kicking their butts in a world cup, as well as winning our regional qualifying....and somehow they still sneak into a seed.

If you seriously believe Mexico deserves a seed over us, you're confused!

Neither deserves a seed. If you think we do, unless we reach the 1/4s again you're high.
