    - If the US doesnt change for this game it can be a huge tragedy on Saturday and an embarrasing loss.

    - If Brazil doesnt change on Saturday they may have a hard time beating the US and possibly even losing on counter attacks.

    - Coaches decisions are going to be critical for the outcome of this game.

    - Im rooting for a tie between Turkey and Cameroon. That keeps both US and Brazil in it in case they also tie.

    - Mathis should start. So should Stewart. We need experienced guys in there and not unproven Nats like Kirovski, Califf and the likes.

i am going to give both teams credit and i expect for both of the teams (regardless of who plays) to play up to and above their ability. if both teams do so, it is arguable that one team has better skill, that the coaches are going to be a big factor in this game.
i hope for a very entertaining match.

    Hmm.

The interesting thing about this match is that both coaches are faced with opponents who have just turned in subpar performances with young/inexperienced sides.

For Brazil, I think we may see some players again who have a wee bit more playing time. I think we'll see Alex in midfield, which makes life quite a bit harder.

For the US, Arena will have watched the Cameroon match and wonder how much good he can do by trying to win Brazil's last war. Expect tough man markers on the outsides (although I'm not sure who I would assign to that role, really.). Possibly Armas and Mas both in the middle to gum up Alex and co? In practice that experiment hasn't worked all that well.

Overall, I think it's very hard to predict how these teams will come out. I expect the US to surprise Brazil a bit, but Brazil will adjust and run out winners by one or perhaps two.

Goal - Adriano.. Giveaway by Berhalter. Howard saved the first shot, but Adriano got another chance and put it in.

    by Adrahino

23' : ADRIANO GOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!!!! He breaks away from the challenge of Berhaleter, with a hornedous error... Howard is quick off his line and saves the first shot, but the Brazilian keeps his head and strikes with his right foot into an empty goal.... BRAZIL 1-0

    20' : STATISTIC: Possession - Brazil 68% - USA 32%

    Adriano!!

I knew his power would be too much for the US defense. However it looks like a terrible play by Berhalter. I am not being biased when I say that Brazil's forwards are the very worst players to make a mistake in front of the net against. They live for that, watch you, and almost stalk you and dare you to do it.

    Berhalter's having a terrible tournament.

I have a feeling this will get ugly. We just don't look motivated or ready. We're playing scared, and it shows. Brutal start.

Berhalter...this is why America gets a bad name worldwide.

My question is being answered. WIll the REAL USA please stand up? Looks like 1998 was our true team, not 2002.
