I sure hope Brazil kicks the snot out of Cameroon, because if the Indomitable Lions win or even tie, Brazil will be fired up to kick the snot out of us!

    What the heck, GO LIONS!

I always like to see South American teams win international tournaments, so go Brazil! Cameroon took us (Colombia) out of Italy 90, they won 2 - 1, so this will be revenge...not really but go Brazil!

Getting a live video feed. What a goal by Eto'o. Took a shot from outside the area and blasted it home. Could be a huge upset here.

Brazil looked very, very ordinary today.

That's because it was a very ordinary team that they put out. Not many stars. Also they have a habit of doing very badly in competitions like this.

Cameroon on the other hand put out a very strong side. Eto'o is a talented player, he's going to be moving to one of the top clubs in Europe soon, certainly he's too good for Mallorca.

That is true though. I posted the line-up in the CBF forum - Cameroon is at near full-strength. No domestics. Brazil was almost playing for the draw but a breakdown late in the match sealed their fate. Cameroon were the better team today.

Parreira has to make some adjustments - next match they will apply tremendous pressure and try to put in a few versus the US - and keep the US from putting in a few against them.

IMO they were a lot like they looked in 2001 Confed Cup. Same old story.

    Stupid Parreira

That's what I have written in the brazilian forum:

Thank you Parreira for another uninsterested, piss poor game from Brazil. The friendly against Nigeria was just a shadow near this display of negligence, bad passing and terrible crossing. Not mentioning the cameroonese outrunned the brazilians everytime.

What about the strategy? WTF was the best fit player of the brazilian league (Alex) doing in the bench the whole game? Why change Adriano for another foward in the inexperienced Ilan? The only ************ing sub in the entire game!

At least the brazilian press is already taking it seriously. Galvão Bueno the powerful Rede Globo commentator didn't give Parreira a rest for the entire 2nd half. Claims for Alex have already started. This will shake their worlds for a little.

About the Cameroon team, they were unrecognizable. They didn't played like an african team. Very close, tough on defense, physical, and outrunning the brazilian attacks. More like an european, scandinavian team. They scored in their only clear chance in the 2nd half till then. They didn't play the entertaining, attacking and fun to watch african game. But Brazil deserved to lose anyway, oh yeah!

Cameroon cellebrated like it was a victory in the Wolrd Cup. Congratulations for them.

Looks like we're heading for another inter-World Cups nightmare. That suits CBF well.

The way Cameroon played is down to the influence of the coach and it's the way the African game is going, get the defensive and tactical organisation of the European game and mix it with their own natural physical pace and power. It's highly effective, just look at how well Senegal have done playing a similar style.

They've all learnt from Nigeria's mistakes.

PS Having looked again at the Cameroon team, they were strong, but it wasn't their strongest lineup, a few new/inexperienced players in there.

    Re: Stupid Parreira

Can you make any posts without being a condescending dick?

Of course they celebrated beating the REIGNING WORLD CHAMPIONS.

Any time a team beats Brazil in a tournament, on a cracker of a goal, they are happy.

Congratulation to Cameroon, great game today

Was it my TV or the Brasilian midfield had no clue on what to do with the ball... creativity?? what's that! allways playing it sideways... it took us 5 to 6 touches to get the ball moving somewere...

Hope parreira manages to come up with something for the next game... Like making a bold radical move like giving Alex (one of the best players current in Brasil) a chance to shine

    Congrats to Camerron again

I agree - Alex would have been a big boost with about 25 minutes, leaving him fresh for Saturday's game as well.

And I just can't see Ricardinho being a factor for this team after this tournament is over. Yes, he can hold the ball, but his distribution isn't close to what it was 2-3 years ago.

Adriano looked dangerous in the first half, but Brasil could never get any runs towards the goal. And once it got to the corners, they couldn't figure out what to do with it.

Cameroon played a great game, and in the second half, just as in Sydney 3 years ago, their confidence grew and you could tell it was just a matter of time. Hell of a goal by Eto'o.

As for the next games - I think both teams should win their next games; even with Brasil's current lineup, they should be able to put away the USA, who are having their own problems with players not exactly up to this level of competition.

I'd give this Brasil lineup a 50/50 shot at beating Turkey - I don't think they can pressure the way Cameroon did for 90 minutes, and their defense didn't look nearly as good as Cameroon's. But to ensure that win, or to play well in the semi-final, the midfield is going to have to step up. Alex should help. Haven't seen Dudu play - ever. And Eduardo Costa is probably an even change for Ricardinho at this point.

This team has got to find a way to play well without Ronaldo. Rivaldo and Roberto Carlos' versatility and talent are always missed of course, but it shouldn't just fall apart and everyone's level of play drop to nothing when Ronaldo is gone. How many unforced turnovers were there in the 2nd half?

I think the 3-0 victory over Nigeria was a horrible thing to happen to this team...

anybody have a picture of Jean-Joël Perrier Doumbé when he got his head gashed open? I know it's morbid but I gotta show it to somebody.
