    Well...let me say this first.

If this happens, I am ecstatic. We get the best American coach there is. That is fact. We stole Bradley.

However, my excitement is tempered at best. I feel so hollow about the positions that management took last year, that I am struggling to be excited for the new season. I really am.

Faria, for all his hustle and bustle will be a good fit for Chicago for one reason. He does not get injured, and he adds another scoring threat. Even though I have always been critical of him, Faria did produce. Should he have produced more? For god sakes yes. However, he was whining a lot. That angers me a lot.

Anyway, I wish all the best to Bradley. If Bradley is able to make the mess that is the Metrostars organization in general into a decent side, he truly will be admired in my mind forever.

Also, I don't know but this doesn't seem very fair to the Fire. Bradley was under contract. Also, I guess some fire fans can enlighten us, but I never remember any discord among the front office and Bradley.

This is definately going to spark questions of Metro favoritism all over again.

Whether we like it or not, I feel that we have been handed the keys to the championship time and time again. We have failed miserably, which shows how pathetic our organization is.

If this is true, it's good to get Bradley but a shame to give up Faria. I would have rather have given up one of our Allocations.

My question is, if Bradley comes will he have the full control over player decisions (i.e. will Nick be out of the picture as far as team building goes)?

I want Bradley to be the one who is in control of our Allocations/Draft Picks/Trades/Discovery Players.

I think DCdog is someone in the MLS front office. Who likes to keep his name out of the spotlight.

The Metros just added a new fan. I moved to NY last winter though I remained a Fire fan for this past season. Why? The Fire have a professional organization and the MetroStars were run by amatuers.

Bradley will either clean up the h****S*** that goes on at the Swamp or prove that it cannot be done. Bradley coached teams do not give up and are almost always better organized than their opponent. Most impostantly, Bradley and those on his team never, never point fingers when the chips are down. The MetroStars to this point have been run by emotional 5-yr olds. That will change now.

    Get your season tickets today!

Let's hope it's the former. I have this lingering fear that the latter is a distinct possibility.

If the stadium legislation passes I will breathe a lot easier about the future of this team.

OK, let's break this down a bit.

-- No Diallo, no Faria for '03. This means that our #1 off-season need switches from right mid to forward. (Or are you excited by a Mathis / Klinger starting tandem?) We also still need help at central defense. Maybe someone knows for sure that Esky will be available with the #2 pick. If not, we seriously need to change our tactics with regards to the allocations.

-- Dropping Faria opens up another FA slot. So, both allocations likely go to foreigners. No Berhalter or anyone of their ilk.

-- Dropping Faria does not open up a lot of cap room ($50-60K, tops). One of those new FAs better come cheap, like under $125K, if we are serious about renegotiations with Howard and Mathis.

Good point Obie. Goals may be hard to come by next year, unless Clint gets his act together and has a Ruiz/Twellman type season.

You all should die of ghonorea and rot in hell, but damn you guys are getting a great coach. Treat him well, because I think a lot of Fire fans are not appreciating this "abandonment" by our beloved coach. Little side-note, this may spark a rivalry between the Fire and Metros to rival the one we have with Dallas...looking forward to next year.

Damn you guys are really selfish arent ya? I mean lets put Metro aside for a minute. Lets say Bob was from Kansas and his family lived in Kansas and he chose to go back home so he can be close to his roots and family. What sort of a moron are you to tell him "NO you cant leave us!" and deprive the man of his happiness?

No one is saying he can't go. I wish the man the best. But imagine for a second that you guys had one coach who built your team from the ground up and took that team to two MLS Cup Finals (with one championship) and two Open Cup championships. This man has been with the team for 5 years. He has been the heart and soul of the team and is recognized as one of the best. Then imagine that without warning this man decides to up and leave. Put yourselves in our shoes, we are losing the only coach we have ever known, and arguably the best in MLS history.
Now, I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but I am shocked and saddened. However, I harbor no ill will towards Bradley, and again, I wish him the best of luck...in life. I hope you Metros crash and burn yet again.

I think if we ever had a coach like that and he wanted to go back home to be with his family Ill be the first guy helping him with his bags to the airport. If he had left us for MONEY then Ill be pissed. But you cant be pissed at the guy for wanting to come home.

Greta move dumping Faria as Mathis has to step up[ and will. Faria is past his prime anyway as rumors say he is almost 30 yrs old.

I'm not. Some aren't taking it well. I'm just pissed at the "deal" we are getting. Faria and a conditional draft pick, even you guys have to know you got the better end of the proverbial stick on this one.

Yes I think Eskandarian will be available at #2 assuming you don't give up that draft pick as compensation. But, Bradley might also play Brad Davis up top with Mathis.

If Bradley becomes the Metros Coach I suspect his allocations/discoveries will be for a playmaker and a ballwinner for central midfield.

Losing Faria would hurt, but losing Diallo is a huge gain because Bradley's teams have chemistry and work very hard for one another.

What? Have you ever looked at the kid up close? Does he look 30 to you? Act 30 on the field? Run like a 30 year old? He scores 8 goals in one season and 12 in the next. That is the mark of a player past his prime- 50% improvement? Look up some Tino Martinez batting averages then come back and talk about 30 year olds past their prime.

And while I agree that Mathis has to step up, it would be nice if he had someone else to play with up top. We all remember the hard time we had producing when it was just Mathis and Adolfo "I No Go" Valencia who loafed it all game. Faria would have been a good back up, a sub for late game offense when he could use his speed in the 70-90th minutes running against tired legs to create chances. We now need allocations to fill the void. As much as I love draft picks like Eskandarian, how many guys like that come in and score 12 a year? I don't want to see a year worth of Clint yelling at a new kid for running the wrong way, which we've already had 2 of with him and Faria.
