Okay - I can see the differences and can accept that he isn't a supplemental or a homegrown (which I didn't think made sense but knowing how arcane MLS rules are could somehow be true). I will go back to my original thought that Musovski is intriguing but will probably not be available. FWIW, I rechecked my Google query (the results seem somewhat random) and got the following which has one very obvious error. So perhaps Google is as reliable as MLS roster sites.
Yeah that list of forwards is totally uninspiring, I think I'd rather have Ramirez than anyone else on that list, except maybe Musovski but I can't Imagine Seattle not picking up his option if there is one in his contract. But since we already have Ramirez and Musovski is clearly a solid backup/spot starter and not a potential #1 striker, it's a moot point. Plus something about his teeth makes me uneasy, along with the LAFeCes stench that I still associate him with... I'm sure our scouts can do better, right?
Benteke doesn’t interest anyone? Agreed though that Musovski would probably be the most interesting name on the list. Zardes and Martinez are past it at this point unfortunately.
Well Benteke for sure but will he take the pay cut to go from DP to TAM? That’s what I don’t think will happen.
We don’t need MLS retreads or even big name Euro players. There are good forwards in various secondary leagues (Scandinavia, African, etc.) around the world that would love to come to the US. For example Dejan was an unknown to most fans when our scouts found him. San Diego plucked Anders Dyer from Anderlecht and he put up 19g/19a this season. Of course he is a DP and we won’t have that luxury. But in general Scandinavian leagues are one good place to look. And I bet there are some African forwards who are affordable, better than our mediocre bunch and would appreciate chance to play in US. It’s all about scouting effort and recognizing blossoming of undervalued talent. Sometimes it’s just a matter of fit. A forward who is clashing with a coach or is unhappy with the foreign culture he might be stuck in (à la Donovan in Germany). Keane was a DP so it’s different but we got him only because what’s-his-name had the gumption to cold call him and ask. Obviously not having a DP slot limits our options but there are still diamonds in the rough who are willing to play in beautiful LA on GAM/TAM wages. We just have to find them.
Just looked, he was on almost 5 million. So yeah he's 34 and only has a couple years left, but dropping to 1.6 million to fit in as a TAM seems unlikely for him. But hey, we should ask, right? He'd score a crap ton of goals surrounded by the three Ps.
Especially if you can convince him that for legacy purposes that he'd have a legit chance at winning a trophy on this team. Otherwise I hope our scouts are really leaving no stone unturned in other leagues because Mikey Stephen's eye for talent is no longer available.
On COTG last night, Kevin Baxter reported he talked to Greg Vanney last week and Vanney said he hopes to get a starting centerback, midfield depth and 2 forwards. So the good news is he's thinking the same as us as far as player needs.
Here's a link to the LA Times story on this from Baxter in today's paper Galaxy trending upward for 2026? Only if they address these ‘key’ issues @LAGalaxy https://t.co/Vi0JsImP97— Kevin Baxter 🇺🇦🏳️🌈🇵🇷 (@kbaxter11) November 11, 2025
There’s one other thing Vanney knows: the Galaxy won’t wait 17 games for their first victory. “Yeah, I’m very confident,” he said. “I like what we’re trying to do and now we have to execute. We have to execute in the roster building and make sure we have the parts that support each other. Good news everyone! We will win a game in the first 17, Vanney guarantees it. I know he is saying we will be good from the beginning but it just reads funny.
This isn't exactly a roster-related post, but since it affects the roster because Puig's health affects all other roster decisions and improvement, I'll post this here. Puig looks pretty good in this video of Galaxy practice, including in one of the early clips where he is able to execute his patented dribbling moves to get away from a defender. Would have liked to see him do that in both directions, but in general he looks pretty good. I confess, however, that watching him do it against Sanabria had me covering me eyes given his propensity to foul easily.
He probably agrees with us that the Galaxy coach needs to have a top rate soccer IQ. We just disagree on whether that criterion has been met.
I'm not going to this cash grab friendly on Saturday night. I give the Galaxy enough of my cash lol. If anyone becomes aware of a stream to follow it, please let me know.
This isn't a rumor linked to the Galaxy, but if Zimmerman was willing to be a TAM defender and he wanted to come back to LA, we could do worse than him as a free agent CB 🇺🇸 BREAKING: Club legend Walker Zimmerman will depart Nashville SC this winter when his contract expires, per sources. Guys, as usual, thank you very much for your knowledgeable comments. Read them all. A lot of very useful information. On a little unrelated note: man, was I extremely happy to see Seattle lose to Minnesota. During the course of this season, as our team was struggling more and more, I caught myself thinking that I actually start to hate Seattle more than LAFC. Unthinkable, ain't it? But those fkrs stole a season of football from me by injuring our best player last year. I strongly believe that we would've made playoffs this season with Riqui. We wouldn't go far, but that would've been a good solid season, something to build on, and maybe Kuntz wouldn't put a hold on some moves he could do during this season. And they beat us in leagues cup too. The hate is growing... Just wanted to share my emotions, guys, that's all.
From DaBoy on Instagram. Its the way he responded to the LA fan that raises an eyebrow. I didnt follow him in Dallas, but I cant imagine he'd demand a super high salary as much
His expiring contract at FC Dallas was $800,000 a year. Would he accept $400-$500k a year on a 2 year deal to finish up his career back in LA? Is he worth that to us as mid-field depth?
He was out for 6 weeks in the spring with a hamstring injury and another 2+ weeks at the end of the season with the same injury and only had 1 goal and 1 assist last season. He only started 11 games and came off the bench in 6. In 2024, however, he had 2 goals and 8 assists, starting 20 games at CM and AM and coming off the bench in 11. If you can't Fagundez at a lower rate, you might take Lletget at the max non-TAM salary as a replacement if you think he can recover to 2024 form, but not if he's gone off a cliff and 2025 is the new normal.
Doesn’t really fit a need in my opinion, especially if we keep Fagundez. plus, he won’t even be bringing Becky G to the games. no thank you. Thanks for the memories.
