Pec was landing in LA yesterday per his IG. Nasci also seemed to be flying somewere in the last few days. Seems like some players are trickling in.
Dylan Vanney is visible between Nelson and Yoshida in this photo. No surprise since he would be an obvious VCFC player to train with the first team. Could be a HG signing before long. 2011332847727231033 is not a valid tweet id
Same. Boyd had a total on 2 goals and 3 assists in his two seasons with Nashville. And he got a lot of playing time the first season but was a seldom used sub the second. Also he (surprisingly to me) will be 31 this year. Pass.
I don't disagree with your basic point, but calling Boyd a "seldom used sub" in his second season is a bit misleading. Boyd tore his ACL in July of 2024 and was placed on the season-ending injury list. He didn't return to play in Nashville until the last 5 games of 2025, where he got 1 assist.
While I agree that the Galaxy shouldn't have pursued Tyler, my main rational was that he wasn't a fit for a position of need for the Galaxy as he wasn't an AM or a #9. He is strictly a winger and for that position he doesn't generate many assists. Almost the opposite of Espinosa who Nashville signed after waiving Boyd. IMO, Cuevas is far more productive as a winger and much cheaper than Boyd who is still on a TAM contract for 2026. As for his time in Nashville, he was a part-time starter at best in the first half of 2024 and then had an ACL injury in July. He didn't return until August of 2025. He didn't gave any goal contributions in his limited minutes in 2025.
I think an 85% Riqui compared to his pre-injury athleticism would still be able to be a very good player in MLS... But will that be DP worthy? Only time will tell, but he definitely has the IQ to make up for whatever he may lose athletically should his knee make a full recovery. Sort of like Reus after all of his injuries but nowhere near the body type. His small statute may be the biggest roadblock to returning to his top form should he lose the stamina, quickness and shiftiness he's been known for since he joined us.
He was there representing the Galaxy at the MLS Media Day in Miami. I wouldn't be surprised if Riqui was supposed to go given the press interest in his recovery and at the last minute they had to substitute Pec.
loose translation: Garces is on the radar of internacional who have been following the Galaxy and Colombian defender for months, Club Pereira owns 30 percent of any future sales.
I know that money talks in these circumstances, so I am sure both Garces and the Galaxy could become interested if Inter presented a suitable package.
Garces leaving would be a huge blow! But maybe they knew something and that's why we signed two defenders?
2011918415577952357 is not a valid tweet id 21 years old attacker on trial with the Galaxy, or maybe it's VCFC ?
Seems like a classic VCFC trialist. He had a breakout season in 2025 at Farleigh Dickinson (conference player of the year (11g/3a)), but it was in a weaker conference on his third college. He started out at West Virginia Tech for two years and then played at Central Connecticut State in 2024. He's not even listed on the MLS Super Draft eligible player list. He's an international player from Spain who sent some time in Barca Academy.
I would try to lock Garces up if possible with an extension that benefits both the player and the club. I believe Garces will be a European level player in a year or two, and selling him now, especially when we will only get 70% of the haul, seems short sighted. If we manage to have a stellar defense this season with him being a major part of it, even if it doesn't end with a trophy he will be worth even more as a more polished player. Besides, he is so crucial to us as an emergency defender with his elite speed, we do not have anyone with those wheels on the defensive end. I haven't really seen Haak play too much but he doesn't strike me as a speed demon like Garces. We will suffer in defensive transition immensely if we don't replace Garces and simply lose him in a sale now.
We have Garces under contract for three more years (through December 2028). Not sure if two of those years are club option years, but either way that should be long enough for leverage if we need it. I agree, though, that Garces is pretty critical to team defensive speed right now.
I am sorry, but I completely misunderstood which club was interested in Garces. I thought it was Inter Milan, (Internazionale). I don't follow Brazilian football so I thought Internacional meant the Italian side (even though they played in the 2025 World Club Cup). Please disregard my post, as it was based upon my belief that if Inter Milan was interested in Garces they have the funds to make both AEG and him happy as well as fulfilling the typical dream of most players to play on a big team in Europe, that typically played in the Champions League. I have no clue about Internacional.
I was under the impression last season sucked in part because of cap issues and that we’d have more flexibility this season. It’s what – a little over a month until our first competitive match and we’ve signed two center backs while announcing the fulcrum of our attack is out for the season again. It certainly doesn’t seem like a team with options or one planning to compete on all fronts in 2026. Call me a reactionary – and you wouldn’t be wrong – but right now it feels like when those movie series where the producers decide the final film in the series actually needed to be split across two movies “for purely creative reasons”. This off-season is turning in to part one of a rebuild that will conclude in 2027. But much like those franchises that stretch out their final entry only to sneak back in to theaters a few years later with an inevitable “creatively necessary” prequel I won’t be surprised if 2027 ends up yet again being part one of a two-part rebuild targeting 2028. Rinse and repeat like we have for the past 12 years.
I fear you are right but hope you are wrong. Fans will not be as forgiving this year without the halo of an MLS cup win. Kuntz needs to replace Puig with a high quality AM, they are out there, we need to go get one. Hell... Toronto just submitted an $18 million bid for Josh Sargent, I expect no less from the Galaxy.
