he made it through a month and a half without injury before the German break. Genuinely rooting for him. Seems to be in the plans of his club finally.
Reyna and McKennie also have had their share of disciplinary issues. So if we are afraid of Lozano for those reasons we should also have concerns regarding the two Americans.
If we're throwing out crazy names, here's at least one where there are rumors he is available during the winter transfer window (but I don't know why we would want to pay big bucks for someone who is out for another couple of months at least with an injury) 🚨 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Napoli are willing to evaluate incoming offers for Kevin De Bruyne during the winter transfer window. Here’s what I like about Nascimento: he’s signed and the best #9 fit from last year. Agreed he wasn’t great, but If every year we got rid of the players we waste money on and bring in new players, we will get better. We waste so much hanging onto overpriced non-contributors, and swapping/bringing in players who are a bad fit and do nothing. The idea at this point that we sign a great DP striker seems just a low percentage chance.

Two young AM's we could look at are Imrân Louza at Watford and Anis Mehmeti from Bristol City. Neither one is cheap, but both are out of contract this summer in the English Championship. I really believe we should go young and get someone who can run and is a long term prospect. We need to look to the future, there are players out there, I hope Kuntz has a good scouting department - I'm not convinced since Michael Stevens left.
We must pay $6m for Nasci if he plays half our matches. this is weak if true.
So, depending upon how this provision is drafted, we either know for sure he will only start at most just under 50% of our games or he will play just under 50% of the minutes. It never makes sense to draft a performance clause that is fully within the control of the paying club to avoid paying. That's how Nelson ended up getting jacked around by St. Louis.
I don't think that he was worth (what I believe was) the $4mm loan fee for 2025 and I certainly don't see him being worth 50% more based on his play at the end of last year.
This is my thinking as well. Sucks for the player because if he's playing well but the Galaxy do not want to pay $6m, then he will not play a minute above the agreed upon trigger for the transfer. Unless he starts the season off averaging a goal a game, there is no way in hell he's worth $6m a year. But I'm certain the language is a bit more technical and complex than what this reporter is leaking. If he suddenly becomes as good or better than prime Joveljic, then we look like geniuses and trigger that transfer happily under the u22 provisions. But if he's the same or just a tad better than last season, the Galaxy will for certain manage his playing time to where he doesn't trigger this clause unfortunately. Which yes would mean more Ramirez and Paintsil minutes at Striker. I get the sense that they are not looking at a DP Striker at the moment, probably a Midfielder. But it's still bizarre (and kind of impressive too) that the Galaxy inner circle is so airtight that no credible rumors or connections to potential players has been leaked post-Riqui surgery.
Use Nascimento for the first half of the season and then get a DP striker in the summer. It's not terrible for him since it would be easier for him to be sold or loaned out in the summer window.
That raises a good point because the reporting was that we only extended his loan until June 30. So is the clause 50% of the entire season? If that’s the case then we could play them until June 30 and when he left would be fine. I just don’t like contract clauses overly affecting a manager’s selection Ability. The last Vanney needs is more limitations and complexities. .
biometric testing with the G’s 💫 pic.twitter.com/zgN4SgNnas— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) January 11, 2026 just looking at the photos here and on IG (tends to be more) and haven’t spotted Yoshida or Zanka yet. (doesn’t mean they aren’t there)
COTG Thurday night mentioned that the Riqui news had the team sorta spinning and out of sorts, and they've responded by closing ranks and keeping everything tight and shutting the press out. So I wouldn't be surprised if some player moves are in the works but they've kept it from the press.
Why would the team leak to Josh that they’re “spinning and out of sorts?” Not the resilient attitude with a plan that I’d be conveying if I was the FO. that implies to me that the FO doesn’t know where they stand with ownership on resources for a replacement.
Sorry that was what he was inferring - no one told him that. But he said they have become tight-lipped on divulging anything. And I think that tracks - I mean, the day before the news came out that Riqui was out for the season, the team's PR was blasting "See Riqui's return" in all their marketing. Anyways, I do think that some players might be moving and not with the team anymore, and we just don't know about it yet.
Yeah pour one out for the poor Galaxy/FO marketing guys, lol. You know that 100% of their campaign was to be about Riqui. Riqui’s IG “story”(is that what they’re called? I have no idea) had a long segment with his doctors checking his incisions /wound and discussing the post surgery including the post surgeon I believe. I wish I spoke Spanish to better understand what was said.
You can see Yoshida in the last one of the Instagram photos. https://www.instagram.com/p/DTYjY2MEiE9/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== In the background of the first photo, you see JT Marcinkowski sitting.
I did read few articles about Dr. Ramón Cugat and his institute. He did knees for quite a few big names in football and not only in football. They call him: Messi of the medicine, rate of success is very high. And a fact that Riqui went back to the same dr for 2nd surgery tells me that he probably only got himself to blame. Here's what google says: You might need another ACL surgery a year after the first due to re-injury (re-tearing the new graft), technical issues from the original surgery (like incorrect graft placement or tunnel widening), infection, hardware complications, poor rehab, or returning to high-impact sports too soon, leading to instability, pain, or loss of motion that indicates the initial reconstruction failed. I don't know, guys, the big part of Riqui's game is (was?) speed. Just like you said, he won't be the same. Sad, it's just sad....
Corner Of The Galaxy @GalaxyPodcast Per this report, Zanka and the Galaxy have parted ways. Seems like a mutual termination of the contract. #LAGalaxy #MLS Sara Margren @SaraMargren Mathias Zanka Jørgensen er færdig i LA Galaxy. Med @danielnojsen
Glesnes, Haak, Garces, Yoshida, Rindov Aude, Nelson Yamane, Cuevas, Miller Our backline is much, much, much better for 2026. Unfortunately our midfield and forward lines are still at 2025 levels.....
