What's the point in playing competitive game on hard, frozen pitch. Seriously. Switch it to open training with some fun activities for fans like strike the crossbar, free kicks competition and pso.
Can Ueki at least pretend she's chasing long passes? She's just jogging behind the defender like she doesn't want to get embarassed in full sprint. Forwards run forward for god's sake! When she is getting 1-on-1 which is basically an attacker's dream, she looks like she doesn't even consider making a run. I mean, come on. Tanikawa is poor, losing a ball in dangerous moments and in silly ways, initiating opposive counter-attack. Kumagai is shaky, so is Koga and Miyazawa. Fujino is invisible. Hirao is worse than Okuma. Out best player is Yamamoto and it says a lot.
Looks like after Kitagawa's concussion some players said to hell with this game. Why risk injuries. Nadeshiko are playing in walking pace just going thru the motions. Funny thing. Japan can lose even 5-0 today and still they will get more ranking points than US from this whole trip. (-4 from first game, +16 from second, and now -8) The officiating is really bad.
Not a lot to cheer about in the second half. I was hoping for some action on the left flank by where I was sitting, but not much at all. Got really cold by the end of the game.
Today starts as a bad day. I fear Young Nadeshiko might get the same result, because they seem to be also weak under the severe pressures.
Seriously, it would have been better to just scrap the game and just refund all tickets. I sure wouldn't want to play in that kind of crap in April of all times in the year. This whole thing was pointless. I think the JFA needs to hold more friendlies against the likes of Germany, France or even England. The sample from such matches would tell us more about where the team stands as we know our Nadeshiko can defeat a Spanish team that doesn't need to rely that much on physicality. Speaking of England, the Japanese men's team defeated their opponents at Wembley not long ago. Why not try the same with the women's team?
I assume you mean that Nadeshiko Japan have lost? Seriously, guys, you could have posted the final score for a poor friend in Europe who didn't want to wake up at 3:00 am!
Today's result (1): Nadeshiko League Harima (Chiba, Shono 2) 3-4 Belle (Kishinami Mikoto 2, Kishinami Yuki, Terao) Setagaya (Uchida 2) 2-3 Nagoya (Ueda, Tachibana, Kakuta) Nadeshiko League 2 Speranza 0-1 Kibi (Furutani)
USA 3-0 Nadeshiko Japan's 4 bad points: 1 lost the ball in duel (USA's pressure is fast and strong) 2 lots of inaccurate passes especially in final third kill good chances 3 defence at opponent's CK (two goals were given) 4 was unable to prevent USA's fast counter attacks (one goal)
And another ACL injury... 菅野奏音(Kanno Oto) suffered an ACL injury during last week game against Regina and is out for 8 months. https://www.verdy.co.jp/beleza/news/14860
I assume - seeing the Tompson-Twins and Trinity Rodman in the line-up - the US did not play their B-Team, unlike in the game Nadeshiko won.... Nadeshiko played all the big names (without Tanaka, which... well.. never mind) and got a beating....
If I choose Misuzu Uchida, Mitsuki Horie score; if I choose Mitsuki Horie, Misuzu Uchida scores a brace. I should give up!
I am quite ready to watch the U-20 final, although, according to your predictions, guys, I should expect a game as sad as the one our Senior Team just lost to USWNT.
AFC U20 WAC.....Final...The refs responsibility If we win..we win...if we lose..we lose......but if we lose because the referee is weak and has let so much cheating happen in the name of 'keeping the game flowing' it will be a sad state of affairs for Asian womens football....I have watched a lot of this tournament and have seen some truly abysmal officials. Regarding this upcoming final imo the ref needs to issue a yellow card immediately any player crosses the line between foul and regular play...no benefit of the doubt stuff...no wait and see stuff...no waved away with what might or might not be a warning...the expected standard of play most be made obvious...very obvious...when the the very first over the line infringement is commited..straight away. If this sounds like sour grapes 'in advance'...it's not...if we lose 5-0 to a superior side who do not need to cheat to win...fair enough...but if we are left wondering what would have happened had the ref done this or that ...not good enough. Likewise if we win 1-0 with a PK that was an obvious 'dive'...not good enough Hope we get to see a cracking game of footie with no controversy...and we can all say of the result "fair enough" and watch them pick up their medals...see you later
Well, the series of friendlies has ended. I was happy with the first match, defeat notwithstanding. I was delighted with the win in the second—it's always nice to see some Hamano magic. But the final match can’t be considered a satisfying one. Japan were poor throughout the game. There was no cohesion and no fight, and the danger to the US goal was all but non-existent. It would have been nice to see some spells where we took the initiative and pushed the game into their half, but we were on the back foot for pretty much the entire match. Still, it’s better to lose like that in friendlies than in high-stakes World Cup games. Plus, the Americans were arguably highly motivated to end this home series on a high. I hope the Japanese staff can learn the right lessons and find a way to let beauty prevail over sheer force. Recently, I have watched some highlight videos of Yuzuki Yamamoto. At times, they were jaw-dropping, so I was particularly excited to see her play against the US. It’s a shame she couldn’t showcase her abilities, but the whole team was somewhat subpar, as has already been mentioned here.
