He looks totally depressed after that last scoring chance.

edit: If this was ice hockey, any contact like that with a goalie would result with a lot of pushing and shoving after the whistle. You don't touch the goalie ever.

Not as clinical that 45 mins...Missed a few sitters in the second half and a few mistakes crept in but it was 32°C and presumably they did not have the same breakfast as PRK earlier so would have tired more easily.

(It's going to be a final where armour plated legs may be required)

Did anybody else notice the young Miki Ito lookalike in the CHN team

A lot of unnecessary drama in the second half, but we've got classic JPN-DPRK final after all.
    Congrats to young Nadeshiko!

China dominated the second half, but they are very poor in the attacking zone.
Young Nadeshiko is splendid only in low pressures.
If this is the standard of their play, North Korea would bear down them easily.

I wouldn't go that far, but they definitely got back into the game, which was unfortunate considering much higher overall skill level of Young Nadeshiko.

I have two controversial questions after today:
    1. Is Yamashita really better than Okuma?
    2. I'm quite terrified to watch Risa Shimizu facing fast, strong attacker possessing ball at her feet.

When ball is being delivered, Risa with her high football IQ is great in intercepting it and even skillfully initiating attack, but if the ball somehow lands at the feet of attacker, she has poor chances 1-on-1 vs faster players.

    1. It's a nice problem to have. I'd like to see Okuma (Ookuma? Ohkuma? Ōkuma?) get more playing time.

    2. Agree. I'm fearful for her ever since her terrible knee injury at the Olympics; possibly she has recovered physically but after something like that, it has to affect your confidence going into 1-on-1 challenges.

As far as the last friendly goes, I note it's in Denver, which is, famously, 1600m above sea level (what Americans call a 'mile'). I wonder if that will be a factor.

Hi back, guys, I am happy to come back here to celebrate another Asian final (although I have the feeling this one will be much tougher to win ).

I hate that it's me ponting out that but... shouldn't @Lohmann get additional points for having correctly guessed the number of goals that were scored by Young Nadeshiko Japan? :cautious:

OK, as you seem to be waiting it, here is my extra game.

    U20 Asian Cup
    Japan vs North Korea

1 exact score (100pts, half hit, 20pts)(if you entry a draw, add extra time perfect score, +100pts whether your regular time score is true or not) (if you think it will be ended by tie score, entry the winner of PK shootout, 100pts)

The following goals include extra time ones (not on PK shootout).
    2 Japan's first scorer (100pts, none, 100pts)
    3 Japan's scorers (3, 20 pts, perfect three, +200pts, nobody, 100pts)
4 at least two goals scorer (1, 200 pts, nobody 10 pts)
5 at least three goals scorer (1, 200 pts, nobody 5 pts)
6 exact time of Japan's first goal (200pts, nothing, 100pts)
