U20 WAC 73min....PRK 2-0 AUS...can't see AUS getting back into this one....( prove me wrong AUS ladies) 89 min...PRK 3-0 AUS...a proper comedians goal...will definitely be on the 'highlights'...a must see. F.T...PRK 3-0 AUS....After a frantic bad tempered second half complete with expletives from the bench
Will it be the hosts or the Koreans with ponytails?.....ko in 5mins on AFC You Tube Ref ....Sugino JPN Edit...15min...THA 0-1 KOR
Is it just me, or is the "Blue Elephants" a rather unfortunate name for a womens' football team? In any case, they have had a couple of decent chances to level it up (I hesitate to say 'trample on their opponent').
This game is a refreshing change from the PRK/AUS 'rough house' game earlier..very watchable Dare I say it ....'proper' Asian Women's football Edit...U20 WAC.....H.T...THA 0-1 KOR....good game
Hard to tell, I kept watching the goal again, Ueno seems to touch the ball with the top of her head but for sure Muramatsu did the last touch.
AFC U20 AWC 105 min....THA 1-2 KOR 123 min...F.T....THA 1- 2 KOR Think the THA goalkeeper will need some time on her own after that second goal All Korean semi final to come
I think it's not too bad a result. We went toe to toe with the world's No. 2, had some good ideas, weren't overrun like in the past. Of course, I agree that we must minimise the number of mistakes seen in this match, too many turnovers that led to dangerous situations. The goals conceded didn't look entirely unavoidable. It would be a dream if we became a team that wins matches like this against the world's top 5 comfortably. For now, we seem to be a settled team and capable of competing at that level—so not too bad! Thanks for the summary! So you're saying Sasaki has become a dinosaur who can't let go? This is indeed sad...
Sasaki lead the team to a World Cup 15 years ago. After that, neither him or the other Japanese coaches after him seemed to have paid attention to the rapid changes in women's football. Sasaki was resting on his laurels while the world around him changed. Nielsen was on a good path. If he wasn't getting results quick enough is not entirely his fault. If Sasaki was not satisfied with his selections he might again have missed the fact that a team with mostly Japan-based players was not really successful. Using only a core team with foreign-based players also didn't cut it, as we have seen. Sasaki is stubborn and too set in his ways to preside over another WC success.

Judging from the photos on their facebook page the two subs were not fit to play, though that was not stated explicitly. It looks like they only have 10 members for the entire season! And judging from the comments they are not the only team to have this problem.
And Japan beat Spain and Norway at the WWC under Ikeda, which they failed to do under Nielsen during the friendlies last year. I don't see the point in such comparisons.
Thanks for the information. Sympathy for them, and their supporters. They also lost the previous week by 20. I hadn't thought of players being unfit as the reason. Their season will seem long. http://shikoku-fa.jp/wp-content/uploads/2026四国結果-四国女子サッカーリーグ.pdf I recall Lilywolf playing several games with less than a full team but managed to keep the score respectable.
I was refering to the statement that in the past the US overran Japan. The victory against Spain was in the group stage. Later they got a beating.
