I do not know much about the politics of Japanese Football, so I will leave that to you. I like Sasaki but it would be nice to see somebody else overseeing the national team. But relating to Nielsen's contract. If the players were unhappy and felt preparation could have been better then is it not better to make a change now as opposed to carry on without anything changing before the World Cup? It is all about communication I guess. However, did you think Nadeshiko were going in the right direction under Nielsen? I personally was not convinced and I did not think Nadeshiko's play had improved. I did like that he was starting to think a bit more about the makeup of the squad with the exclusion of Tanikawa from the first team and the move to put Takahashi at right-back being good examples. But other than that it was just more of the same for me. Nadeshiko have some excellent players and are a good team. They beat weaker teams very easily and are more than capable of making the quarter-finals of the World Cup. But that appears to be their limit, because they do not seem to have any answers for fast, skillful and physical teams. I am not sure who they can get to take them to the next level.

A win at last. Iga 2-1 Setagaya Coming back from 1 down, a penalty well taken by Katsura (I couldn't see the reason for the penalty but I'll accept the refs decision). Then a goal by Matsuda, the young new signing from Yanagigaura HS. Btw...Setagaya still fall over a lot.

Ah, I was so close to your same perfect three, @unepommekun! I agonized for long between Misuzu Uchida and Mitsuki Horie as Setagaya's scorer I was going to chose... and then I went with the wrong one! Kumi Yokoyama and Yuzuki Tsuchiya were lock-in for me, and obviously I was right there, but I had that 50%-50% choice wrong!

AFC U20 Womens Asian Cup PRK v AUS 38°C...and that's before they have kicked a ball Edit...2min...PRK 1-0 AUS
My concern is less about Nielsen and more about how this changed happened. Sasaki made it sound like he made this decision for the players who were unsatisfied with Nielsen’s coaching but the players who were interviewed prior to camp all say the news came as a surprise. Hana Takahashi went as far as saying they wanted show their appreciation to Nielsen by getting results. Sasaki had a meeting with the “captain group” (Hasegawa, Kumagai, Tanaka) and Kumagai seemed to be irritated stating that players were the ones who would be affected most so the JFA had to make sure the damage was mitigated. Sasaki made a decision on his own because he didn’t like the team Nielsen was building, he was done with Nielsen since last year yet he didn’t bother finding a replacement. He then framed it as if he was doing all this for the good of the team. Just a month ago he stepped down from director of women’s football and created a new position for himself. I don’t know if it’s because of his past success but in terms of WoSo everything he says, goes. He needs to let women’s football be.
AFC U20 Womens Asian Cup H.T...PRK 1-0 AUS PRK met their match in terms of physical competition...hard to see where AUS goals are going to come from...not a pretty affair
Also: We League website gives the two first goals of Regina's game from today to Mami Ueno, with no own goal. This would be relevant for the result of @unepommekun's game (2), because I had predicted a brace by Mami Ueno.
