I would prefer penalties like that not to be given, but I understand why they are given. Fun game though.
Chinese players play as if they were strictly forbidden to pass back - every single pass is forward, even if it's likely to be intercepted. It's pretty impressive against team like Australia, probably they don't want to let opponents settle with positional attack, where individuals like Kerr, Kennedy or Fowler can prevail in one moment. It makes the match very intense physically and interesting to watch.
I really wish the Japan semifinal could have been today, because I am back from work and I could have followed at least the 2nd Half, while tomorrow I'll be at work for the whole length of the day... Oh, well, let's enjoy what remains of Australia-China, since it's not been decided yet.
Wow, what a beautiful goal! Sam Kerr picking up that stranded ball in the midfield, passing it to Caitlin Foord and then sprinting like a rocket towards the opponent goal, while explicitly asking for the assist to her team-mate. The assist in fact came and was a great one, but it was Sam Kerr again turning it into gold: what a dribbling of the GK and what an accurate billiard-like shot from that tight angle. Sam Kerr is really a great one, giving a sense of inevitability when she runs towards the goal alone!
I may be wrong, but I can not see China scoring another goal. China have looked quite good, but they just have not created much in Australia's final third.
