Sorry, I somehow thought Australia was a Group winner So it's two group winners and two third placed teams in the same half of the draw. At least my remark about a third-placed team qualifying was correct.
Nils Nielsen, Coach I think we played efficiently and efficiently. While we didn't change our strategy significantly from the first match, scoring earlier allowed us to remain calm and play well. I asked the players to be proactive when they could take shots, increase the tempo of our attacks, and avoid conceding goals, and I think they really demonstrated that. They were well-positioned and connected well with each other. I feel like this match showed how small changes between the first and second matches can make a big difference in the outcome. I'm happy that we scored so many goals, but I'm not satisfied and want to keep doing it. DF #16 YAMAMOTO YUZUKI (NTV Tokyo Verdy Beleza) This was my first start for the national team (other than last year's East Asian E-1 Football Championship, where the team was mainly made up of domestic club players), so I was a little nervous, but I'm really glad that my bold shot led to a goal. At the moment I scored, I felt more relief that we'd taken the lead early and calmed the game than the reality that it was my first goal for the national team. I was a little worried about my match fitness after a break from playing, but I'm confident that I was able to demonstrate what I've learned in the game. While I'm still not used to playing as a fullback, I felt I was able to showcase my strengths during the long attacking periods. With Shimizu Risa as my perfect role model, I'd like to continue to learn and improve in practice, learning how to play when the defensive tasks increase as opponents become stronger. MF #7 MIYAZAWA Hinata (Manchester United/England) Personally, I'm truly happy to have scored my first hat trick (for the national team). It was also great for the team to score in various ways, including by breaking out from the second row. In the first match, the opponent sat back, and despite having possession of the ball, we struggled to score for long stretches, so in this match we all shared the goal of scoring as early as possible. Scoring the opening goal early on allowed me to stay calm and play the game with confidence. In the second half, I played on the left wing for the first time in a while, and I tried to utilize my strengths while considering whether to cross the ball or use the players around me. I think it was a positive experience for the team that we were able to break down the defense in various ways and score goals. FW #9 UEKI Riko (West Ham United/England) I'm happy that I was able to score a goal for the national team for the first time in a while, and that I even managed to get a hat trick (my first for the national team). I'm also relieved that I was able to produce results as a forward. My strength is getting close to the goal, and I've played with Hijikata for a long time, so I was able to score at the right time. I think the third goal was also possible because Hayashi understood my strengths. In Asia, there are many players with similar builds, so I feel like it's easier to utilize my strengths in heading. At club level, I spend a lot of time working on my own issues, but at the national team, I can use the skills I've developed as a finisher, so I'm grateful for that and hope to translate that into results in the tough matches ahead. FW #26 HIJIKATA Maya (Aston Villa/England) I think my strengths are starting attacks, receiving the ball at my feet, taking action multiple times, and ultimately getting in front of the goal, so I came on hoping to make a difference in those areas. Watching the first half from the outside, I felt I could change the tempo of the attack, so once I entered the pitch, I was determined to put in the work. I was able to play for 45 minutes, which was longer than the first match, and I feel confident that I was able to contribute in areas other than scoring, including transitioning between offense and defense. The players around me encouraged me to play freely, which allowed me to play my own style, and I think it was good that we were able to demonstrate the strength of our team, which can perform well no matter who is on the field.

Nadeshiko League opening ceremony: 2026プレナスなでしこリーグ 開幕記者会見 the first round games introducing (from 30:00)
North Korea wasting their own time by protesting so much and refusing to play. Ref has called half-time. We saw this in the Olympic qualifiers too. I remember Iwashimizu in commentary saying something along the lines of “let them complain and waste time, it’s only doing us good”. Edit: very physical and entertaining match btw. My first time hearing Chinese fans booing North Korea.
AFC Womens Asian Cup H.T... CHN 2-1 PRK Controversy...PRK refusing to play after CHN awarded goal...ref has now blown for HT Edit...will they come out for 2nd half? Ps...no JPN officials involved Edit...Yes
Uzbekistan won 4:0 and qualified for quarterfinal. So Japan can decide their opponent themselves (if India doesn't beat Chinese Taipei by 1 and it get's complicated). If they win by 3 against Vietnam it will be Philippines. Otherwise Uzbekistan (in case of 2:0 it will be decided by disciplinary points(both Philippines and Vietnam have 2 yellow cards)).
Ishikawa Rion is leaving the team due to injury. No one has been called up to replace her. https://www.jfa.jp/women/news/00036096/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
I read that Steph Catley has not travelled to Perth with the Matildas. Without her I'm not sure if Australia's backline could cope against DPRK.
Anyway, if you think at the usual behaviour on the pitch of these two teams, I wouldn't want to be the referee of this match: to use an understatement, it shouldn't be a very easy task.
AFC Womens Asian Cup...Quarter Final qualification rules...it's really simple Winner of Group A will play runner up of Group B unless they have an average height less than 177cm or it is a full moon in which case they will play the winner of the Man City v Man Utd derby Winner of group B will play runner up of Group A only if Group A runner up have less than five players who do not sport a ponytail of at least 25cms Winner of Group C will play the winner of the Kentucky Derby Nadeshiko JPN will automatically advance to the semi final as the AFC have decided another embarrassing scoreline will be bad for the image of the tournament. See..l told you it was simple

1. 4:0 2. Tanikawa, Fujino, Hamano 3. Hamano 4. nobody I think Maika wants to score bad and Vietnam will put a good fight, at least in the first half, plus my fave to score forever, Tanaka, will likely be rested after starting first two matches.
Her initial call-up was baffling already, considering her recent injury and bench-warming in latest club matches. Yuka Momiki should've taken her place imo.
If Sarina Bolden played, I'd definitely preferred Uzbekistan, as one outstanding player has always potential to change matches. Now, I think there is not much difference for Nadeshiko who to play against.
It was pretty close decision, but leaving the pitch in protest, risking disqualification in the middle of a game was huge overreaction. They are lucky referee wasn't super strict and gently disarmed the situation by whistling for half-time, otherwise North Korea grand return to international competition would've turned into disaster.
