Sakabe did not play for Koge either. It is such a strange qualifying system. Riga had to go to Wrexham to play Wrexham in a sudden death match and then they had to go to Koge and play them in a sudden death match. Why are not these matches being played at neutral grounds to make it fairer? Koge were the better team, but I wonder how well they would have played if they had had to travel to Latvia.
How many would watch such a match at neutral ground? No match in Champions League qualification this season that didn't involved the host had an attendance of more than 300 (Even a match like Ajax vs Bröndby in Scotland had only 77). The alternative would be home and away matches but you would need 4 additional dates.
