So we both get the 100 points bonus for Kawasaki and her first goal though we've probably wasted as many points or more by selecting her so many times when she didn't score, instead of selecting a regular scorer

Tanikawa up front/false nine. Fujino as 10. Miyazawa on the left. The rest is in their usual positions.
Entertaining game with some amazing shots and 'Nadeshiko-style' goals. The only, small minus for me is 23' golden boot Hinata losing her striker instinct under Skinner's rule - she tried to assist others in most convenient scoring situations.
Was at work and missed the match. I hope I am going to enjoy some good highlights later (please post them here if/when available).
I think playing Tanikawa as a false nine is a good idea, because she is so dangerous in front of goal. I would like to see her in this position against good teams. Doing it against South Africa does not really teach us anything. I only watched a bit of the match while shopping. I would prefer them to play tougher opposition than South Africa. North Korea would have been ideal in my opinion.
Agreed, although to be fair the match was more for South Africa's benefit rather than Japan's, since they are preparing for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) starting next month, which is the African confederation's World Cup qualifying tournament.
