At their last league game before retiring, Yuki Sakai (age 37) and Azusa Iwashimizu (age 39) decided to celebrate by scoring their first goal this season (2011 WWC's hero needed a PK, though, that I am sure everybody was happy to let her take ). Natsuki Kishikawa (age 35) was at her second goal this season instead (and I don't remember to have heard anything about her retiring yet ). Does anyone know what's the tie-breaker in WE League's final rankings? Goal difference or direct clash? Because, with this win, Nojima Stella Kanagawa Sagamihara caught up with RB Omiya Ardija Women in the rankings, but they would have needed to score one more goal to be level with their goal difference! If the tie-breaker is the direct clash instead, they clearly overcame their 1-2 loss in the first round.
It seems to be only I who guesses we can score plural goals. I have an impression that this North Korea team is somewhat different from U20 one. Their front line is quite strong (#17, #9, and of course #10), so it'll be hard to stop their attacks, but their defence looked vulnarable against China. Well, it may be just my hope.

Finally, Regina finishes 4th and without losing against the top 3. Top 3 6 games played Wins - 4 Draws - 2 Losses - 0 10 goals scored 3 goals conceded. Regina is the only team that has not lost away but only won 3, not enough to reach the top 3. Without Goya and Sayama (injured the whole season), sometimes Ichinose had to do the job for 2 as a CB, can’t ask her for more. Nakashima did great from december until the end of the season, Yanase improved and reached a level I wouldn’t expect. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be surprised if they will transfer abroad. I hope that the core of the team will stay and be able to really compete for the top 3 because the league needs to be a bit more challenging.

I thought they had a real chance to finish top 3 this year but blew it last week by drawing with Cerezo. A win would have put them 1 point behind 3rd and put pressure on Beleza to have to beat Albi this week. In the end Beleza had no pressure this week since they were already confirmed 3rd (unless they lost by 10 or so).

@Elstree was right. Second consecutive 2-2 draw for Veertien: it's no more time for 0-0s. Anyway, still no win for them and mostly draws.

JFA once again are sadly last-placed. Noa Fukushima looks like a luxury for such a team, but she anyway can't do much alone. Any chance that JFA gets better when their players get back from U-17 AFC Women's Asian Cup? Any rumours about where Noa Fukushima could go to further develop her career? A WE League's team or directly abroad, as other young players did?
Noa Fukushima for Man City Women please... When does she finnish her academic work? Blues v Clones....let battle commence
This U-17 Japanese generation being taller was probably an illusion, judging by how the Chinese escort-kids are almost as tall as them!
Looks like the Syrian referee is not much afraid of physical play and refrains from stopping the flow of the actions. At the moment, both teams are taking advantage of that, but, on the long run, this is obviously going to favour North Korea...
