I am happy to see Ichinose, Yanase (Regina), Momono, Tago, Wada (Cerezo), Sasai (Stella), Nishio (Ohmiya) get recognised. Aikawa was really good in the first-half of the season, so I do not mind her being selected. There were no players selected from JEF and Sendai, which I find a little surprising. I mean JEF's Yuki Ogawa and everybody's favourite player Chihiro Yamaguchi have been excellent this season. Given Sendai's remarkable turnaround from bottom of the league to top six, and on top if tgat beating all top three teams you think they might have some representation. Yume Endo would be my choice who has been fantastic on the wing with of course Satsuki Miura as always a rock in defence.
Sanfrecce Hiroshima Yo Tachibana She barely played this season, turning 29 in june. Imo she could have played for a Nadeshiko League club for 1 or 2 more seasons. She will be remembered for scoring the best goal of the 23-24 season.
I had liked her much, but this was expected because mostly she was not even on the bench this season.Too many rivals on her position; in addition to Lee, Matsumoto, Takizawa (now injured), Usui and Ito Riri joined it.

Watched the highlights and was glad to see Japan advance to the semis! But judging from you guys' posts here, I guess we won't have a Asian Cup sweep this year Well, you can't always win, they say...
I should be able to watch the U-17 match today, in a little more than an hour. I hope it will be a good one. Meanwhile, I'll have some breakfast.
Well, the first goal happen way earlier than I had expected, at 3', and I couldn't have guessed the name of the score-opener anyway, because it was an own-goal by an Australian player (it would have be an amazing header from CK action for a FW that was actually intentioned to score). This makes me wonder if, in his game, @unepommekun would allow any of us to choose an opponent player as the first scorer for Japan. I've seen a staff member on our bench that eerily reminded me of Yukari Kinga.
Oh, ok, I hadn't intended it that way, but it makes sense: so one can still guess Japanese first scorer even if it's actually the second goal for Japan? @unepommekun has to clarify the rulings, here.
