Manaka Hayashi entered the game at 61' for Chicago against Portland of Hina Sugita who played since 59th minute.
This game really flattered Manchester United. Obviously they have the better squad, but some of their defending from corners was not the best. I have been one of Kumagai's biggest critics for over five years now, but maybe because I have such low expectations for her play, I actually thought she played alright. I think bad defending gets punished a lot more in the women's game because the keepers cannot cover as much area. Ishikawa is one of those rare Japanese defenders who is actually good at defending. Her weaknesses - when playing in the WE League - were her passing, but mainly her indecesiveness on the ball. Her passing by WE League standards is just okay, but compared to Ichinose (Hiroshima), Ohga (Stella), Takeshige (now Feyenord) it does not even come close; but it is serviceable. However, she was caught mnay times on the ball and on occasion conceded goals at Urawa, especially in her first full season. However, last season she was much better for Urawa and I cannot remember her making any major mistakes on the ball. I hope for her sake it is teething issues and Everton give her a few more chances to prove herself, because she is a good defender. I will not be surprised if she is dropped for next week's game. The first goal was a bit unlucky, but the second goal was a terrible mistake. Her mistakes are going to be punished way more in the Barclays WSL than in the WE League.

The third Yoshida goal was clearly offside. This type of thing happens all the time to Stella, but it is usually Beleza, so it makes for a nice change. Thankfully this game was fun to watch because Stella tried to play. The match was actually a lot closer than the scoreline suggests with the main difference being that INAC have players who will score when given the chance. Stella pressed and counter pressed very well in this game and put the INAC defence under quite a lot of pressure, but were just unable to capitalise on their good pressing. Stella really should have scored another goal in the second-half but for poor finishing. Stella also made it pretty easy for INAC with two pretty poor defensive errors. Nothing new there. Although INAC were the better team, but their defence looks quite shaky in my opinion. If a good team is willing to take some risks against their defence I feel they could genuinely score quite a few goals against them. I think Hiroshima played against them very well. I will be very curious to see how Urawa play them next week. It was a pretty good game this one with Wakisaka stirring things up in midfield. Cerezo looked much better with Takarada in midfield. I mean with her and Wakisaka in midfield most teams will look a lot better. Cerezo have Arai, (kawaii) Momona and Tago as forward options so it seems logical to play Takarada in midfield. I am not sure she wants to play there though. I have no idea why Beleza did not start Hiwatari.
Riko Yoshida could have left one of her goals to Yui Narumiya, since I had predicted a brace for the latter! Now we know why @unepommekun started this game: because he feels sure to win it. It was to get those who had predicted her as a scorer (including me and you!) in trouble!
She played for Viama in 23. Transferred to Belle for 24. She left Belle in December 24 and resigned for Viama April 25. She was a '?' in my transfer list since she left it so late. Yes, I suborned the ref of the Nojima vs Inac game and made her confirm the Yoshida's dubious third goal. If this was not admitted, my point was only 20.

It looks like the WE League teams will join much earlier than the usual 5th round, probably the 2nd round. Let's hope we get much better coverage instead of just the later rounds. There's 2 less rounds this year (6 instead of 8) and it starts and finishes earlier (last year 17th Nov - 25th Jan). It also looks like the winners receive 3 cups ?, The Empress' Cup, The JFA Cup, The Takekoshi Cup. Nittaidai score at 90' and get their 10th draw of the season out of 18 games (they reach Orca's record at that). Just one single win for them in the whole season, but on the other hand they gain today one point over Speranza on a match-day that saw 4 draws out of 6 games in Nadeshiko League 1.
