Hi, guys: it's been a very difficult year for my personal health, so I can only hope 2025 will be better...

Thus, you will forgive me if I limit this introduction to the bare minimum. :notworthy:

We now have our shiny new Nadeshiko thread for the new year and, incidentally, we also have a new coach for our favourite National Team. Let's hope he will do good, or at least as good as possible, given the various circumstances. :giggle: I am aware many of us are quite skeptical about a non-Japanese coach: let's cut him some slack, at least at the beginning, and then we're going to see. ;)

Meanwhile, we'll also have WE League, Empress' Cup, Nadeshiko League and all the leagues overseas that are filled with Nadeshiko internationals to follow (along with youth tournaments, regional leagues and all of the countless matches we like to watch or to even just read about here! :p). It will be another exciting here of Japanese Women's Football.

I am especially thrilled by the AFC Women's Champions' League and by the chance that Japan can secure the first official Asian title for clubs, after winning the non-official one last year. :)

Anyway, since my post is very short and only scratched the sufarce of it all, feel free to start posting here by expressing your wishes for the year that just started and by telling us which competitions or events you are particularly looking forward to. :geek:

RB Omiya VENTUS just signed Yuma Saito from Viamaterrasu Miyazaki.
    https://www.rbomiya.com/ventus/news/?id=43750
I don't think she is the only kind of player that Omiya need right now. How many players are still injured, 3-4?

I have to admit that it lets me down a little that such an impressive player signs for the current worse team of the WE League.

Let's hope it somehow changes if the Red Bull sponsor decides to invest some more money along the road...

Agree with you to some extent, but there have been factors militating against her full potential.

Imo Oshima could really make a difference on the field but she is injured. Hayashi was also injured for a while at the beginning of the season. After her injury (ACL), Goshima never reached the expectations we could wait from her.
As I said in a previous post, 4-5 players were injured with an ACL injury within 18 months during training sessions which was quite worrying.
Let's wait and see the strategy that RB will build in the next few months, only money ? Synergy with the clubs that have a women's team : Paris FC, Leipzig ?

Two new recruits (Munakata and Ochiai) from universities might add some powers for Ohmiya.

The AFC Women’s Champions League knockout stage draw ceremony will finally take place next week.

Urawa is in Pot 1 which means they will play the quarter-final at ''home'' on March 22nd or 23rd 2025 and could be drawn against Abu Dhabi Country Club (UAE), Bam Khatoon FC (IRN) or Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC (CHN).

I don't know about the other teams at all, but of course you should watch the second live; ever strong Fujieda Junshin vs kind of a sister of Cerezo youth Ohsaka Gakugei.

Good result by Yamanashi Gaukin... even more so when you consider that Aemu Oyama was directing the play for Waseda in the middle of the park.

These four teams were almost even. Each one has several good players who can be central bones of a team. Especially, apart from the JFA decignated players, Ito in Yamanashi was the most impressive. She appeared everywhere in attacking zones, looked more threatening than Kimoto.

    Very predictable best 4.
I don't know why Urawa is not here, but three but Inac have a lot of U17 NT members.
In the teams which left in the first round, Shonan, Albi and Ehime seemed close to them.
Especially Ehime Mikan was beaten by Inac in the PK shootout.
In fact, this competition may be higher in level than highschool one, so I want to watch it more; at least from semifinal.

I watched the second half of Daisho vs Seiwa Gakuen.
It was a really even good game; powerful and aggresive Daisho vs technical passing football Seiwa.
I was attracted by Seiwa, so wanted to watch their play more.
