Seike (goal and assist) vs Ueki - both whole match. Hamano vs Yamashita, Hasegawa, Fujino - all three whole match.
Maybe the JFA head office doesn't see eye to eye with the Kansai JFA office. I recall 2 years ago seeing these regional games or at least the final which was a draw and went penalties one of the GK saved a lot in that. I don't remember seeing anything after that. I also think the JFA head office doesn't like so much the Chugoku JFA or the Kyushu JFA. In the Empress' Cup 4 of the 5 teams that qualified from the Chugoku region are put in the odd 4 match first round, 2 of the 3 Kyushu teams are also there, 6 of the 8 are from these 2 regions. Not that any of these games matter so much since the Beleza name will be engraved on the trophy this year . BTW Gakuin and Gakuen. what is the difference?
Today's result: WE League Albi (Yamaya, Kawasumi 2) 3-0 Mynavi Nojima (Hirata, Minamino) 2-2 Chifure (Sonoda, Yoshida) Urawa (Kurishima, OG, Fujisaki 2) 4-0 Ohmiya
Wow, a Nahomi Kawasumi's brace is not something you see often these days! One of the last 2011's veteran, 39 yo. Arisa Minamino is also at her 1st goal this season (and gives one precious point to Stella) The other brace from today is from Satoko Fujisaki, an Urawa's youngster (just turned 18), who, if I am not wrong, had scored one of the famous 17 goals vs Odisha a the AFC Women's Champions' League's group stage. I won't deny @Elstree (or @unepommekun) the pleasure of giving Empress' Cup's scores, but I can't help commenting that Diavorosso Hiroshima, despite facing an university team, only scored the winner in extra-time at 120'+2'! Talk about "late goal"!
I actually thought @unepommekun would do them. 46th Empress' Cup first round. Diosa Izumo 3-2 Kamimura Gakuen (there were no Brazilian players in the Izumo squad) DR Hiroshima 1-0aet Aichi Toho Uni Kibi 2-0 Shugakukan HS Tokyo International Uni 1-1(5-3pk) AICJ HS All Japan Highschool Girls Soccer Championship (Kansai) Daisho Gakuen 0-0 Osaka Gakugei Osaka Toin 2-2 Otemae Gakuin Training matches V Ichihara 1-1 Bunnys (Sat) V Ichihara 4-0 Orca (Sun)
I will entrust them to you. By the way, this final league system in Osaka is rare. As a result, Daisho and Osaka Gakugei go to the national championship. In addition, in four regions (Miyagi, Tokyo, Shizuoka, Hyogo) two teams go to that, Seiwa and Tokiwagi, Shutoku and Jumonji, Tokoha Tachibana and Fujieda Junshin and Kobe Koryo and Hinomoto respectively. It's a little surprise that Tokoha won against Fujieda in Shizuoka final, though of course they have been fighting against each other in the final every year.
An all-Japanese controversy in the WSL This was given as a penalty 😬Everton still lead Liverpool but the goal was a controversial one!Fuka Nagano tripped Honoka Hayashi - but the challenge was made outside the box 📸 pic.twitter.com/ViBXN1GkE3— Match of the Day (@BBCMOTD) November 17, 2024
Honoka Hayashi played 72 minutes for Everton against Liverpool of Fuka Nagano who played whole match.
Yuka Momiki and Saori Takarada played whole match for Leicester against ManUnited of Hinata Miyazawa who was subbed-in at 86th minute.
I watched only the first half. It's difficult to judge her play because Leicester was poor with lots of missed passes. She sometimes received the ball from the back line. Her ball keeping success rate was maybe about 50%. Leicester's only one clear chance to score was made by Momiki's play in the box.
It's killing me. I adore her since WC. Not only she was fast as hell, but her runs were perfectly timed and her finishing at full speed under pressure was brilliant. I have never seen such deadly slasher since prime Alex Morgan. I wonder if the injury diminished her capabilities or her style of play doesn't suit Skinner's tactics. Sometimes I think she would do better in weaker team that prefers counter-attacking.
Ok but you get the All Japan University Women's Football Championship. Dec 24 - Jan 6 . https://www.jfa.jp/match/university_womens_2024/schedule_result/pdf/Tournament.pdf
OK, in fact it's interesting because many players from universities have joined WE League teams as important weapons lately, but I don't know whether it would be broadcasted or not.
I'm sure it will be streamed though some matches last year was like they were playing on a mountain side where the camera was tilted. As much as the Uni leagues and teams produce a lot of good players, I also wonder if they harm womens football in Japan in part. How many talented players get so comfortable with their Uni squads they don't want to be the 'new player' trying to fit into a club team after they leave University? The JUWFA were posting on twitter, profiles of squads, 76 squads last I recall so a lot of players. Is the Kanto Uni League called The Blossom League?
Tanikawa goes back to Vayern. https://www.soccer-king.jp/news/japan/nadeshiko/20241120/1956647.html/2
Wow, Urawa had a pair unexpected draws, so far: they are not as much dominant as in the previous season. It's a much more open league.
