Nagano deserved the win. They played much better than Cerezo today. Cerezo went ahead from a great volley by Tanaka, but it was against the run of play. After that Nagano just wore down the Cerezo defence. Nagano pressed high up the pitch and Cerezo could not get the ball out of their own half. Wakisaka can only do so much. Cerezo play a very dangerous style of football, which puts their defence under a lot of pressure. I always wonder about Nagano each season, because they never seem to have much of a squad, but they always seem to play pretty good football with what they have. The INAC pitch was INAC's secret weapon to stop Beleza from playing too well. I do not know if I have mentioned her before, but gee that number 10 for Beleza is a good player. Her long passing was a bit off today, but the way Kinoshita just moved in and around players was exceptional. I have no idea if she has a reason to stay in Japan, but she could play in any of the top teams in any league in the world. I really am surprised that one of the NWSL teams have not come in for her. I mean Narumi Miura, who is a good player, has been starting regularly, but Kinoshita is way better than her. I was curious to see how Satsuki Miura would fit into this Beleza side and it looks like it is working out. She is a very good, smart defender who knows how to keep a straight line, which is perhaps why Beleza went for her.
Wow, these two 0-0 draws involving top teams sound quite anticlimactic. Can they have anything to do with Japan's cronic lack of reliable strikers?
