Returning from exile only for brief period from last World Cup sadness to cheer on the Nadeshiko Japan Women's Team.

While we are waiting my question to other distinguished fans of Nadeshiko is who is your current favourite Nadeshiko Women's National Team Player? Injured team members not able to join the National Team at this time can be selected in this non scientific poll.

    I will go first.
Very difficult as I have a fondness for many players for their excellent football skill levels and engaging personality but if if I had to choose currently subject to change lol it would be Yui Hasegawa. :)

Yui is everyone's favourite, but I think Hinata Miyazawa is the most likeable player on earth. She's like a living soccer anime character with cutest smile, hair, character, insane speed and deadly finishing. :inlove:

Is that website (despite being Uefa's official one! :x3:) actually reliable? o_O I can't see trace of Frankfurt among the winners, although I well remember the final where Many Islacker gave the title to them with a late goal.

In the "players whith the most matches played" chart, at some point some entire sections of the chart are identically repeated.

Of course I am not blaming you, @Lohmann: I am blaming UEFA.

I can't see it anymore either; it was probably a temporary visualization-bug of my browser.

But Frankfurt's titles missing are apparently a permenent bug of the website! :x3:

Uzbeks run out of steam (and their will after loosing 1st goal) and gave up 2 more goals in last 15 mins of the game.

Midori Honda outwitted Tony Gustavsson for 72 mins then Matildas stopped missing the target and as stated above opposition run out of steam

(strange....have a look at Mary Fowlers complete absence of goal celebration after scoring at 83 min)

    Starting line up…

This has me a bit worried ngl but I’ll wait and see how the game goes. Wonder who’s LB Takahashi or Koga?

Edit: Minami also has some experience as LB I guess

Yeah, me too. Regardless of where they play, how many centrebacks in this team? I hope they are not too cautious and end up giving up possession. You don't want to invite pressure yourselves... I guess Kumagai will play in the midfield.

    4-4-2? 4-1-4-1?

If I’m not mistaken, Ikeda’s never started Tanaka and Ueki together until now. Bold to be trying new ideas now.

It could be 4-4-2. I have a bad feeling Ikeda may play Hasegawa on the left... Kumagai and Nagano in the middle.

Hasegawa on the left feels like the only option here.

That is an empty stadium. Did they pick Jeddah because they knew there would be no audience for either team because of a lack of interest?

I'd set up in the middle with pressing starting only when opponent enters my own half. Keep the low block and crowd the area in front of my goal for first 20 min. 5-3-2 or 4-1-4-1. It's very hot - allow Koreans run a little and then counter. Few sprints there and back again and they will tire for 2nd half.
