Albi vs Mynavi highlight: Albirex Niigata Ladies v MyNavi Sendai Ladies | Group B | WE League Kracie Cup | Highlights (fifa.com)
By now, I've learnt where highlights-videos are located: this time I can post Austria-Japan's one by myself :
African teams use to be very physical, so Japan-Nigeria in the round of 16 could set up another similar game. I am anyway happy that, by remaining ahead of Austria, we dodged the AFC clash vs North Korea.
I have just found a Twitter thread and indeed it is quite worrying. It is in japanese and unfortunately I don't have time to translate the entire thread right now. — Naoto Kojima (@Coach_Naoto) September 6, 2024 Google translate : ''The management of Bunnys Gunma FC White Star has been in breach of two conditions for league participation - sharing financial status and collaborating with us - ever since it was decided that the league could start, and the Nadeshiko League has therefore "recommended for them to withdraw from the league from 2025."
I read a lot of what he had to say this morning. Not good. There was one section said about sponsorship payments last November/December. The payments were going into the bank then vanishing the next day. When the team staff enquired to the management about the sponsorship payments, they were told they were from last year. The sponsors told the team they were actually for this year. It's worth the time to translate and read all he has to say on this. it goes back a month or so from what I looked at. Edit. They are away to Viama this coming weekend.
This was the thread I was talking about . Good thing you found him because I forgot to save it and was struggling to. The same guy has two other threads from previous dates. The more he shares the worse things seem.

A world where Bunnys and White Star were not the same thing: and we had already almost forgotten about it. Maybe it would have been better if things had stayed like that.
I was quite the Bunnys fan at one time - even went out of my way to get a replica jersey. I feel sorry for the girls, who were badly let down.
https://weleague.jp/news/1429/ The next set of WE league board members have been nominated, and it’s quite a disappointing situation. Most of the roles will be filled by their J league counterparts on a part time basis including the Chairman. So the stance from JFA seems to be “prioritize the J league and give the members a bit of extra work to take care of the women’s league when they have some free time.” If there is a positive to take from this it’s that we may see more cooperation between the two leagues. But I did not think JFA would give up on the WE league standing on its own two feet in such early stages of its development.
Unlike most teams, Diossa Izumo as an example, who spend years going through the long process of repeatedly trying to get into the Nadeshiko League, the White Star management took the shortcut with the purchased of the struggling Bunnys Kyoto. But. Unlike Ange Violet who disbanded not only their top team but also their U18, U15 etc, completely halted all Ange activities. Bunnys Kyoto kept their younger squads and renamed to Bunnys Kyoto SC Flaps. And some of their players that are now over 18 have remained to start a top team playing alongside some U18s. Maybe in time they'll improve and start the long climb back to the Nadashiko League. 30th June 2024. Empress' Cup 1st round game, Kansai. Chiba was subbed out after a goal and an assist at halftime. Frankfurt leads 7:0.
After @blissett Milan last week it's now turn for my city. Massive downpours are coming over Wrocław. City Hall issued warnings to all residents today - 380 liters of water is expected to fall per square meter over the next 3-4 days, which is an absolute record for the city of Wroclaw. All events in the city have been canceled and civil services and residents are preparing to deal with local flooding. In addition, there is a high probability of power outages over the next few days. So, if there are no posts from me for a few days... it means that Wroclaw has turned into Venice and I am busy kayaking to get groceries.
BRA 1 - 1 CMR FT Cameroon's on the verge of making big upset... Spain is already waiting for Japan or Nigeria
well... the ref appointed for JPN vs. NGA game allowed previously for some very rough play in GHA vs. AUS (mostly by Ghana team) and didn't consider this tackle in video below as dangerous play (red card) or even careless play (yellow card)... just plain foul. She didn't change her decission even after seeing the replay... and FIFA has agreed with her by giving her another CAF vs. AFC match to officiate... Considering that Nigeria made 39 fouls (average 13 per game) and Japan 11 (less than 4 per match) I'm really affraid for Young Nadeshiko legs in today's match especially while having this referee on the pitch.
Take care! Such a referee should be kicked out of the tournament, let alone getting a match where another team who's massively recurring to fouls is on the pitch!
This ref is probably going to be responsible for players receiving career ending injuries during her time as a ref It is a disgrace that she is being allowed within 10 kms of a football pitch It is a disgrace that fifa are turning a blind eye to her shortcomings but hey ho...it's fifa so no surprise

Risa Shimizu has undergone a successful surgery after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament in an Olympic match against Spain. She will now continue her rehabilitation at the CFA. Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish her the very best during her recovery. 🩵 pic.twitter.com/CcPXkc2CK7— Manchester City Women (@ManCityWomen) September 12, 2024
Worst news . Kinda what everyone feared. I can only suppose the substantial delay in releasing the details of her condition was at her request. I guess she will get the best treatment and rehab with City. Maybe she can return at some point in the 25/26 season. But still..
Alexia, Miedema or Pajor cases show us that if rehab is done right (and if the player body itself is strong enough) careers may go back on track even after ACL or similar injuries. Fingers crossed for Shimizu making a big comeback if not for AFC Cup then for 2027 WWC qualifiers.
Me arriving for tonight's Nadeshiko game.... (I've been visiting my folks and just came back to town, it's not that bad ... yet )
