It's official. Momiki has left Linkoping. FA WSL or NWSL? San Francisco Bay FC for example wouldn't be a bad choice after 2 years in cold Sweden

Contrary to the past 2 seasons, Niigata seems pretty solid defensively. In the past, they didn't score many goals but didn't concede so much also. They kind had lost their defensive block in the last 2 years. The season has just began, but it seems that they might be able to score a bit more than before, especially on CK (6/15 so far). In the japanese league (We League, We League Cup and Nadeshiko League), I don't think I've seen a team scoring so much on CK. To be honest, I don't think that they could fight for the top 3, but being in 4~5th position in june would be fine for me.

If you did found San Francisco quite cold indeed... then me thinks you would find Linkoping freezing and unhabitable
I mean we do not really know the reason, but Ohmiya might have rejected the request because of the game. But she never starts for Ohmiya and today she only played for fifteen minutes. It was interesting to see her against Kitagawa. Kitagawa is really fast and such a good player. I have always thought she was a good player - and I know I say this all the time - but what were Niigata doing with her? The more I watch Nakada the more I can see her moving into a central midfield position once they decide to unleash Oshima on the right from the start of matches. Of course I will be probably wrong on that, but Nakada is very tidy on the ball and is a very good passer. It was a pretty good game with INAC looking the much better team at the end of the match. I am not sure why they did not play with that same energy at the start of the game. I think teams now have a pretty good of what to expect from them so teams can mitigate a lot of their play. This season might actually be very close in terms of the table, which is a good thing. It is just a shame Hiroshima got hit by two big injuries to two key players, because otherwise I think they would have been in with a shout of winning the league.
This is one of the reasons why Hasegawa has to play a double pivot with Nagano instead of Kumagai playing a lone defensive midfielder. She's one of the best (if not the best) ball winners in WSL. The defensive skills of the center-back and midfielder are different. Winning the ball is a skill while center-backs have different roles such as stopping opponents, blocking, winning headers etc. ,but not necessarily winning the ball. Hasegawa is so good at actually winning the ball which is a talent that Nadeshiko lacks desperately. On top of that, she intercepts the opponents' passes so many times because she reads the game well and is so agile. I was surprised at how good she was winning the ball as a no. 6 last season, but it's gone to another level this season. Due to her role, she doesn't do much with the ball, but the way she wins the ball is incredible. She does this consistently week in and week out in a very physical league.
The way, in some parts of this video, Hasegawa materializes out of nowhere, hawk-like, to steal the ball from a totally dumbfound opponent is hilarious! Nadeshiko Japan needs to put those incredible skills to good use!

Shocking news: Rumi Utsugi updates her blog and explains why we haven’t seen her on the pitch for a while. Around Halloween she was in the hospital due to injury. Her injuries are as follows: Supraorbital wall fracture, severe concussion, left shoulder subluxation, left knee contusion. She says she is now able to live her daily life without problem. She is going through rehabilitation and hopes to see her fans again on the pitch. She doesn’t say anything about how she got injured, but the list of injuries makes it sound like she was hit by a car. Blog post link: http://rumiutsugi.com/blog/4441
Thank you for this. She is an unlucky woman. I believe she was also injured when she stopped playing in the US
She always was one of my favourite players. I wish she recovers completely from this accident, more for her personal life than for this last final part of a long, glorious career.
