rumor has it that japan has received an invitation from the north american confederation to take part in the gold cup 2025. Concacaf Gold Cup 2025: rumored countries that will be invited - Bolavip US
I wasn't a fan of them taking part in Copa America, imagine how I feel about them taking part in a Mickey Mouse tournament like the Gold Cup.
But they played a very good Copa America with the U23 even though they didnt make it to the knock out stages. Its great for the youth teams.
Mexico, USA and Costa Rica are all serious opponents. And the 2025 Gold Cup will take place in the same places where 2026 WC will be placed. Not a bad thing to take some experience in those fields.
100% agree @ Teioh. At least for the reserve/youth players. I doubt, that the clubs in Europe, release them.
Since Paris 2024 is over for JNT, not sure where to post it thus mention it here first. 1819818414527156639 is not a valid tweet id Toru Oniki rumored to be replacing Go Oiwa as U-23 coach, Yuzo Funakoshi possible candidate too.
I highly doubt there will be any friendlies, it's too short notice with the first qualifying game being on September 5th already.
By the way how was Keisuke Hondas comeback? His team won 2-1 and secure the qualification. But how was he playing? And how long? Goal contributions?
Yeah I know, but thats not the point even when he played in the 10th division after such a long time its very nice and interesting to see our hero back for 1 game. So did someone know, how he was playing? How was his performance? Any goal contributions ?
Paro FC defeated the Church Boys United (...) in the Preliminary Stage of AFC Challenge League (after 10 years the competition was on hold). K.Honda was on the pitch for the whole match with his iconic #4 jersey. Here some stats. And here some cheers:
Does he at least have a coaching license? Oh yes he coach Cambodia. Well, I will wait for now. Maybe as a coach assistant?
Last I remember no, he has no coaching license. He wasn't Cambodia's head coach officially. That's a good joke
Which not speaks for him, after such a long time in terms of coaching. Dont think he wants to become a coach.
He's talked about winning the WC as a coach for Japan often enough, but seems to have no interest in other coaching somehow. Will be hard to get a career started like that.. Anyway, it's not like he's 50, he has more than enough time to actually start coaching if he decides he wants to.
