Japan always sucks against Brazil, this Japan team for all it's talent is one of the worst to watch in a long long time. Something needs changed because the talent is being wasted
Wait this is not an official match, what's the meaning of "game over"? There's no game to play at all, it's a training match without nothing as a prize (maybe the Kirin "Cup"? lol). Anyway: Ueda should have scored, this is his mainly job, no matter what. He should capitalize our, poor, chances. Suzuki, as I thought, is not enough for this level. Taniguchi granpa & Co. can't be our defensive line in WC26. We must pray that Tomi find a club and/or Ito stop be injury prone.
Again, this is a meaningless friendly who cares about the referee. Moriyasu must use this match to test players, try tactics and the likes.
Would be nice to beat them for once, lol. More importantly, not get spanked. No, Minamino went for glory and blasted it when he could've just slid it across goal. Was a miracle Ueda even got a boot to it.
I'm shocked, that was an incredible win! Did not expect that at all, is that the first time Japan has beaten Brazil? Somehow Moriyasu has a golden touch against the big dogs, they actually played some beautiful football in the second half, why did it take so long until they started to play? Incredible victory!
Moriyasu you fiend, he must have done some pact with a Devil. No way he will ever be sacked after this historical win for the ages. That's what I want from him. "Lucky" as Inzaghi was lucky everytime he scored one way or another. No matter how, Ueda MUST score.
Well this is just only a friendly, Japan even beat Spain and Germany in WC 2022 group stages just to stop at the RO16 hurdle as always.
Still a good result. But it kind of frustrating to always feel Moriyasu never get out all he can from this team. And what about Taniguchi, is he a starter again all of a sudden?
Doubt he would be a starter in next year's WC tbh, back 3 should still be Tsuyoshi Watanabe/ Junnosuke Suzuki/Koki Machida. Wonder if anyone from the U20 WC players e.g 1 of Yuto Ozeki, Ryunosuke Sato, Kazunari Kita and Rion Ichihara, etc. will be brought along in the 26-man squad
The good thing about this team is that they rise to a challenge as we saw at the world Cup, in the second half they were all over Brazil at points who were holding on for their life. I have NEVER seen Japan do that to a Brazil team. Also, did anyone else see the Japanese players laughing and joking with 5 minutes to go? They were having a great time!! No nerves, no tension, they were enjoying every moment. They believed they can and should be winning, that's huge.
Moriyasu and co. sharpening their katanas. Next year, there will be another carnage of giants at the WC.
Not bad, only saw the last 25 minutes, had stopped checking for updates after I saw it was 2-0, 2-2, surprising. And then 3-2. Not bad, not bad, but doesn't mean much since it's still just a friendly. A defeat wouldn't have mattered much, so a win does neither. Taniguchi? He's not that bad, no idea what he's doing in Belgium, in the NT he's been solid enough. One big mistake in one of his last appearances before today, ok, maybe the last, otherwise unspectacularly solid. Probably he shouldn't be around now, but if everybody else is out injured, why not. Experience. If everybody else (excluding Tomiyasu, can't really count on him anymore, too bad, really really good player) is fit, normally there should be no place for Taniguchi? But I would still prefer the good old 4 man defence, this system just uses Mitoma (or Nakamura) badly, too many defensive duties. Hoped to see Fujita in one of the 2 games, not twice Sano. He's good though, no idea today, vs Paraguay he was one of the better ones for sure. Young guys? Unlikely, Moriyasu seems set on not calling any emerging guys anymore at this point. And if somebody completely explodes it will be like with Mitoma in Qatar. Super-sub instead of starting... but unlikely Moriyasu calls up a really young guy like Sato before the WC. He prefers useless Soma...
It was fun only in the 2nd half. The first one seems typical Japan - Brazil 0 - 4 stuff with Ueda cosplaying Yanagisawa/Okubo.
Decent highlights video here. Japan really could have scored a few more as Brazil were very porous at the back.
