Moriyasu has to be the biggest fraud to have ever managed this team. Just I previously wrote: I'm sick and tired of the guy.

Feel he got little to much credit sometimes. It has been ups and downs.
One final at Asian Cup, wich he lost. One totally failed Asian Cup.
A surprisingly good WC. In the toughest group. Some overall good results.

But then there is to often matches like these two.

Yes that's the point. I think, Japan goes as far as possible under Moriyasu. Fresh blood is needed.

It's obvious that till July 2026 Moriyasu will stay. And I'm scared that this time Japan will not reach the Final16 cuz, you know, miracles happen just 1 time.

Yeah i dont really expect a replay of the last wc or better. They have the squad for it. ( If all fit) But there is just not a good feeling.

2022 was not a miracle, it was Japans improving that they reach the Final 16, 2 times in a row. Of course you need also some game luck.

But I agree I have not the best feeling for the next world cup. From the pure quality it's no question. Japan should reach the Final 16 for sure and normaly more. But Moriyasus tactics and the last games gave me also a bad feeling. And on the other side, ask Germany for example ^^ or Italy, youre right, it's absolutely possible to go out in the group stage or in the new Round of 32.

I wouldn't say it's clear that he will stay to the upcoming WC but it's very likely.

Japans players are getting better and better at club level but Moriyasus is not capable of fix them together.

It's like Moriyasu is stuck with his tactics and can't improve much further. I also am not that optimistic, but who knows.

Today, news in Croatia came out that the Croatian Football Federation sent a delegation to Japan, to talk football matters. Cooperation in various areas has been agreed, and the article says there will be friendly matches! I am hopeful of at least one happening in Croatia, since I want to see Hatate, Maeda and others so badly.

1-1 already. Japan got lucky the Paraguay keeper seemed to make the save on Ogawa's shot but it bounced into the net.

Ueda omg, a Blue Lock style goal, out of nowhere, killer instict and scored with just 5 minutes of playtime. He can (finally) be the japanese Inzaghi.
Moriyasu cosplayng Okada as "The Sphynx", I think this man obey someone above him in JFA.

In 2025, against Saudi, Australia, Mexico, USA, Paraguay; Japan has only scored 2 goals.

Moriyasu does well when Japan is the underdog. Otherwise... My Japan looks like a bad joke.

Nagatomo in the starting eleven against Brasil, let's go

here's hoping we get a group similar to WC 2022 group so that Moriyasu works his underdog "magic" again

Two former WC winners??? Then this time I bet for Argentina and France. Easy group for Moriyasu.

If Kota Takai/Koki Machida still continues to lack playing time and Itakura keeps getting injured one and off.

Won't be surprised if Moriyasu tries Rion Ichihara/Kazunari Kita out in friendlies, etc.
Ichihara's potential wise might be on same level as Itakura, in the long run. Can foresee Ryunosuke Sato, as he is good at set pieces.

Seems like Ayumu Seko/Tsuyoshi Watanabe might possible be the starting CB pair next year.

Tomiyasu probably won't be able to regain match fitness in time, since no club yet.
