There is a bit of a gap between Urawa and Nojima. But Nojima have started quite well, despite the goal. Wakisaka is doing a good job and so is Matsumoto.

 

That should have been a penalty. The ref understands Nojima's predicament.

But I love the silence of the Urawa crowd when a goal almost goes against them.

I would not go that far.

But the non-goal for Nojima was defended very badly by Urawa. Lopez (albeit in an offside position) with so much time to bring the ball down. I think the Urawa defenders are a bit frightened of her to be honest. Sendai defended her much better last week.

Early/long balls into the box are not really how I want them to play, but against Urawa I can understand. I just hope against the weaker teams they play a little bit more possession football.

 

Imagine Naomoto actually had a real injury. I wonder what she would do.

Despite Naomoto's theatrics she is still a very good free-kick taker. It is part of the reason I would like to see her back in Nadeshiko.

 

Agreed...but she should be out the first time she comes up with those antics...it's not Nadeshiko

 

They could have left Nojima out there a bit longer. Nishigori is not a bad young player though.

 

Nojima have been so good at the back, but that was very bad defensive line from Nojima.

I am glad Chihiro Ishida has come on. My favourite player.

 

F.T....Reds 2 Nojima 0.....no points but imo I think Nojima followers can take heart from that performance

 

Omiya - Niigata 1:1 FT

 

Nojima with Ohga and Matsubara playing as centre backs are looking very difficult to break down. The second goal came from a formation change and a misunderstanding with where people should be standing.

Wakisaka was very good today. She is now playing the way I hoped she would play. She worked so hard and did some very good defending.

I have no idea when Nojima will score a goal. Maybe next week. I would like to see Nishigori start next week. She could replace Hirata in midfield.

I also think teams have to stop being so nice to Ando. She is still a good player, but seriously they need to make it a little bit more difficult for her.

You have a look at all the possession Urawa had they did not really create that many opportunities from open play. The fact they are dangerous from dead ball situations is what makes them a good team, but still I think there is hope for mid-table teams against Urawa.

Finally, Urawa do like to milk their free-kicks.
