Although so awkwardly connecting with a good Sameshima's cross doesn't actually help her chances...

Miura out, Hayashi in at 80'.

Was it Hamada, who earlier, instead of shooting, had a square pass to Momiki, who missed? I guess she should have shot instead, too much generous, here.

Tanaka hits the post: what a waste of clear-cut chances, in this 2nd Half! :x3:

    U.K.
F.T......Japan 7 Paraguay 0.......No big surprise....comprehensive win....that's set me up for the day..It's just great to see them again

Woman of the match Hina Sugita imo

Not sure Takakura san learned much about the squad except maybe Aya Samashima will probably still be playing when she's 40 yrs old

Yes, and now even Tanaka with a diving header on the one-to-last minute of additional-time.

They wasted the impossible in this 2nd Half, and they both score now!

7-0 FT. Could have easily have been 10-0 or more with better converting ratio.

Yes, when exactly the last game for Senior Team had been? (or for any Nadeshiko NT, for that matter)

I think the Shark was really brilliant today. Of course, she didn't have to defend much, so she was free to roam forward, but her runs and her pinpoint crosses were perfect and they would have deserved better finishing from her team-mates. :notworthy:

I am still curious about what Iwashimizu had to say, while commenting this game, about her former fellow DF's state of form. :giggle:

Well, this goal could give South Korea some sort of a lifeline, although I see they were at home, so a 0-1 win in China won't even be enough.

Apperently Ji So-Yun, whose hair was dyed blonde just a few days ago in Chelsea's WCL quarter-final vs Wolfsburg, suddenly went back to black? :giggle:

It asked me to sign up for "Discord", did I need to? I kinda prefer to cause discord and arguments in this thread exclusively. :) Hey, weren't Nadeshiko meant to be hosting and thrashing New Zealand in your next game? What happened to that? Are NZ such a fearsome opponent... That should've been us losing tonight! (us?/them? still haven't chosen a pronoun yet). Anyway, here's an update thing.

New Zealand NRFL: The league is back, and we're lucky to have the wizards of Western Springs for some more time, Arisa Takeda and Rina Hirano. After they played for Auckland Football Federation in the short national league, the Japanese pair continue in the Northern league in 2021, and had a brilliant start to the season: 3 goals between them in the first game, and I was privileged to see Takeda score the late winning free-kick in week 2 for Western Springs against Auckland United. A big revamp of the country's league system is happening at the moment - @scousekiwi on his site has written some fantastic stuff about it, and a great report of the first game too.
(...and I missed it! I had to go away to a hui. Which is a pity, but that is the most Kiwi reason for missing it. Maybe I can become one of them New Zealanders after all.)

What parameter? ;) Goals: 83? Caps: 205? o_O Years active: 22?
Ability-wise alone she is legendary anyway, but any one of those look so far off for any active player it's out of this world.

She is for Japan what Christine Sinclair is to Canada: a machine of a player. Sawa could have carried on a little longer, but I wouldn't hold it against her for calling it a career early since she got her first senior cap at 15.

Speaking about Mana's goals: do you plan to post any highlights video, like in the old times, @Lechus7? ;)

That's depending on mumf, if he will forward me full match from his source.

Momoka Kinoshita not only with a debut today but also with an assist. :)

Let's hope he kept the good habits from (gasp!) more than one year ago.
By the way, any news from him? Do we positively know that he's ok?

Which one? I can't remember (of course one of the last two in additional time, since she wasn't on the pitch before, but which one?).

Also, I couldn't remember who made that long drive from our half of the pitch that leapfrogged Paraguaian GK and was smashed in goal by Iwabuchi.
