Not for Nadeshiko. Nadeshiko play Taiwan tomorrow (Thursday) at 1620 Japan time. Saturday - China 1555 Tuesday - South Korea 1930
Is there any coverage on domestic TV of Nadeshiko (TV Asahi etc) EAFF E1 games or any coverage anywhere?
Chinese Taipei 0 Japan 4,,,Tanaka (pen)....0 5....Matsubara H.T. Chinese Taipei 0 Japan 5 Korea DPR sadly missed It's only midway through game two but it would be a shame if the tournament is ultimately decided by who can score the most goals against Chinese Taipei.(no disrespect meant to CT)
Got the day wrong! Sorry about that. But it looks like people are watching thankfully. Still a bit one-sided. Poor old Taiwan.
EAFF E1 Champs FT Chinese Taipei 0 Japan 9 4 more goals..... Ikejiri...Seike...Iwabuchi...Ikejiri Practice game for Nadeshiko B Hard to see any positives other than tournament is invaluable experience for C.T. to play tournament footie against Asian 'big guns' Can't see that Takakura would have learned anything new from the game Great to see the low key goal celebrations but wouldn't expect anything less from our team.
Was working at school during the match (not a great time for someone who's working in Italy, since it was 8:20/10:00 for us). I'll gladly watch the goals later in highlights, although, as it's been correctly said, the match didn't probably say too much about anything. I am anyway curious about how some of the young players managed to blend in with the rest of the team. Since Kinga/Sameshima's 2011 days, we're always eager for Side-Backs who can give a substantial contribution to the offensive game and there aren't many replacements for our starters in this department, so I am especially curious about Kiko Seike's performance. It looks like her conversion to DF has been successfully made in Urawa, but I am particulary excited to see her play that role in NT by the fact that she started her career as a FW. Jun Endo was really played in the back, as the line-up posted by @Lechus7 suggests? Could be a reasonable move, but I guess Endo is more important in a proper offensive role. As meaningless as the score was, I am happy that Mayu Ikejiri scored two goals: we need some stories of successful players from overseas leagues! Totally agree.
Highlights from the EAFF match: After Saki Kumagai finally scored her 1st goal with Senior National Team in the latest friendly match vs South Africa, how many Japanese players had their first today? I am quite sure Ikejiri's brace were her first goals with Senior NT. First goals for Matsubara and Seike also? I guess Rikako Kobayashi had already scored instead. Of course, for Iwabuchi and Mina Tanaka these not only aren't the first goals, but I they aren't even their first braces either. (for Iwabuchi the brace in the friendly match vs Norway about a year ago comes to mind; for Mina Tanaka the hat-trick vs New Zealand that basically led to the sacking of the opponent team's coach).
It was such a good hat-trick, the head of NZ Football also resigned https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/sport/368517/shaw-departs-to-allow-football-to-rebuild I didn't post it in the forum at the time, because the bully coach Heraf had already quit. But Tanaka probably did us(?*)/NZ a big favour with her performance that day. *it's where I am located, if not born

It is Taiwan, so it is best not to read too much into her performance. I understand that she will probably be used as cover at left back, but I hope she plays against China at left back. We might then start to get an idea of whether she can actually play there. She is very good going forward, but can she defend? Probably because she is fast, but I would like to see her defend against better opposition.

"(...) Japan will also offer its knowledge of player development as part of its bid, with seminars and other events to take place during the tournament." - imo it's one of the most overlooked things in this decade by WoSo journalist - impact Japanese School of Football made on WoSo worldwide.
