I'm hearing that #LAGalaxy are pushing hard to acquire #MNUFC winger Miguel Ibarra. They aren't the only ones - #RCTID and #Sounders are trying to make a deal for him, as well.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 15, 2017
Ibarra does not make sense. We have wide players in Llegett, Boetang and Allessandrini. Does adding him really make us that much better considering his contract? Miguel Ibarra, M, $290,004.00, $322,326.00 http://www.denverpost.com/2017/04/25/minnesota-united-fc-player-salaries-2017/
This is strange. Ousted better not have been our plan A. But probably too expensive for a backup, so not sure what is going on.
If we were trying to use TAM then we were looking to give him a raise as his current option was below TAM level
Hmmm...I'm a little encouraged. Hopefully that hope is not crushed. Waiting to see what we're going to do about our GK situation though. Also - the athletes posting on twitter drive me nuts. It won't help you guys and just makes you luck unprofessional. It's like if one of us at our jobs sent an all company email about a promotion/job we wanted. I may be an old fart here, but I think it's flat out dumb and just makes fans pissed off. Entertaining sure, but seems like agents should tell their folks: HANDS OFF TWITTER.
The #LAGalaxy are close to completing a deal to acquire G David Bingham from #Quakes74. https://t.co/5m6KTaTU7l— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) December 15, 2017
I think this is a good move. He hit a bad run of form last year, but I'm thinking a new change of scenery will help him boost his confidence.
I'm satisfied with Bingham as a 1A starter if we get another competent goalie to be 1B. Especially if we save most of our TAM/GAM/JAM/BAM/RAM for more defenders and a striker. Don't understand why we'd want another winger unless that lets us move one for something else we need.
You may not like Rowe as a keeper and its certainly your right to critique his play or want the Galaxy to replace him on the roster. But being flippant or happy about the fact that he is likely taking a major financial loss is not something that should be celebrated.
I actually like Rowe as a keeper and think we totally miss managed our GK position. I'm not happy that Rowe may lose on money but 7E23 comment did make me laugh. I don't think it was malicious.
If you are referring to Ousted's tweets today about the league screwing players over with the TAM rule then I completely disagree.
I 100% agree. If we let Rowe keep the number 1 spot in 2015 instead giving it to Ricketts, I think we win MLS Cup that year. The team had no confidence with Ricketts and it tanked our season. Not to mention he was at least partially at fault for all 3 goals in the playoff game against Seattle. Rowe was pretty good in 2016, but Onalfo's mismanagement of the position last season ruined both Rowes and Diops confidence. Ideally we would have kept Rowe and signed Bingham to push each other for the number 1 spot.
Skjelvik's signing is a promising bit of business. Build back-to-front. I'm assuming this means Ciani's is being stuffed into the back of the same Lincoln towncar that disappeared Cudicini as we speak. Kamara for Zardes would be good, too, if we can pull it off. I don't quite understand the Ibarra rumor, but apparently he's in demand around the league. We're also not looking at CMs (or at least, I haven't heard any rumors) it seems, so maybe Sigi sees Lletget there rather than on the wing? Does that mean he'd be the 6 next to Jona?
