So Pirlo starts last night and our midfield plays like shit! You can see that he just doesn't fit into what Vieira is trying to do. Instead of holding the ball and making the simple pass he lofts it long and more often than not it goes nowhere. Meanwhile when Herrera is there we dominate the midfield and teams have a tough time getting anything going, Pirlo doesn't play defense and he doesn't have the engine for what he needs to do at that position.
Great win tonight. We are over a third of the way through the regular season, and I definitely haven't felt this positive at this point in past years. Wallace is looking like the buy of the season for us.
Wallace has been immense so far, and the midfield limited Kaka to almost nothing with regards to offense. It really is telling that when someone like Mikey Lopez plays in that Pirlo spot how much more solid the team looks and plays. Can you imagine if they get a true DM!?! I love Herrera but unfortunately I think he's playing his way off the team. He's loan is mostly likely ending in the summer (I hope I'm wrong on that) and I can't see Man City extending it. He'll probably get loaned out to a European side somewhere.
