Not saying the league is doomed, lol. I'm just afraid it'll become boring like Europe and only have a couple of teams dominate. Could be worst. At least I'm not a Cubs fan.
I worry about that too, but I imagine at some point those running the NASL might realize running a sport with only 3 or 4 teams having a legitimate chance to win is a losing proposition in the US. People won't continue to root for a team if they don't feel like they have a fair chance to try and compete.
Don't think its an issue at this time, NASL clubs seem to be spending within their means even with more moneyed ownership groups coming into the league. Cosmos spending didn't get them into the final last year and to the contrary the thrifty Strikers made it. Cosmos have gone undefeated in the short 10 game spring season but could have lost a few without some of their late comebacks. Tampa Bay was only 1 point behind them as well. I grew up as a kid watching NHL dynasties, superclubs like Montreal, NY Islanders, and the Oilers who dominated the league for long stretches of years at a time - it didn't make me not want to follow my losing team or lose interest - we loved to hate those great teams and were ultra interested in beating them even though it rarely happened and it was exciting to watch they're brilliance. I don't get the want some have for parity, usually manufactered to a point, across a league. Its boring IMHO.
A #Thunderbolt of a signing is coming your way at 3 p.m. today. Stay tuned #NASL— Atlanta Silverbacks (@ATLSVBpark) July 7, 2015
Junior Burgos ? Is he that good ? http://www.nasl.com/news/2015/07/07...rns-to-the-silverbacks-for-fall-season#tabs-2
Atlanta about to sign even more players ? http://midfieldpress.com/2015/07/08/atlanta-silverbacks-to-sign-three-players/
He was actually one of the few bright spots for the Silverbacks last year in an otherwise dismal 2014. He tries to make stuff happen and can honestly score from anywhere.
I like it, I wonder how much we paid NYRB though. I'm usually not a fan of loans unless we have the option of getting him back next season.
Seriously hope they don't spend a stupid amount of money on him. Freddy likes to overestimate his value by quite a bit.
Adu is officially a Rowdie. Thankfully they're not spending much on him. /r/NASLSoccer are buying way to much into the hype. Some people will never learn, lol. http://www.rowdiessoccer.com/news/2...-with-signing-of-midfielderforward-freddy-adu
http://www.sascorpions.com/news/201...ire-portuguese-international-daniel-fernandes Woah .... that's a pretty damned good GK signing for us. The Palacios guy seems like he might be ok too.
