The Batman show did not go over well IMHO . He drove his car on the floor in the final mininute let during half time there was some type of show planed I guess they cancled it .
The Roar was giving away tickets on facebook , how else would you go from 600 fans a game to all of the sudden 4600+ fans in one game .
Completely agree! My kids we're very upset and so was some of the other youngsters around. I know the "half time show" was announced and kids we're looking forward to seeing Batman battle the Joker or someone. Instead, as you said, 90% of halftime was spent watching the crappy High School marching band and cheerleading and about 2 minutes of Batman driving around the field followed by his AMAZING interview: "Do your best, even if you lose, just do your best.... Thank you". All around someone dropped the ball or a miscommunication somewhere. Im wondering if they thought this guy did a "show" and than we're told when he got there his "show" was basically wearing the outfit, taking pictures and driving in the Adam West Batmobile. This was after all the guy who got famous by getting pulled over by cops while in full costume on his way to a childrens hospital. So he hasn't ever really been known for his "show", but more for his looks/car. With that said, he did a excellent job interacting with the kids. He never rushed a single kid and yet did a good job of keeping the line moving so to speak. He was supposed to be on the stage yet walked around the concourse after the stage started to get empty. Really thought he was a class act and hope they do bring him back, show or no show, next year as my kids and other kids seemed to really enjoy it. Maybe bring him and other superheros next time and have a half-time soccer game?? Be funny none the less watching Spiderman try to score on Wolverine.
They finally back filled those missing Roar games, which were about what you'd expect. 12/14 at Rochester is the only missing game right now. Pointstreak's stats include one of last night's games, but not all three. (In parentheses is the difference in announced average over the same number of home games as a year ago.) Team........................G...Total....Avg. Rochester Lancers...........6...42,476...7,079 (+32.7%) Baltimore Blast.............8...46,603...5,825 (+11.4%) St. Louis Ambush............6...32,786...5,464 (N/A) Milwaukee Wave..............6...30,037...5,006 (+17.4) Missouri Comets.............7...28,890...4,127 (-2.9%) Syracuse Silver Knights.....6...17,224...2,871 (-11.6%) Pennsylvania Roar...........8...11,956...1,495 (N/A) MISL TOTAL.................47..209,972...4,467 (+9.7%)
Sounded like Syracuse was optimistic that last night was going to be a larger crowd, so that number came in as a bit of a disappointment.
As of yesterday morning, they just wanted to sell 300 more tickets to make this "one of the highest attended games this season". At least their goals aren't set too high...
The SilverKnights this season changed many things in regards to attendance. They've curtailed the free-tickets that they send out but added 2 free vouchers to every season ticket seat sold. We'd all like to see higher attendance numbers. However, with a large increase in sponsor support (It's now Dave&Buster's Field/Rug) and exclusive Chevy (no Kia influence) the 3000 in attendance that was reported as make or break in previous years I don't think still holds true. According to the Post Standard the reported number is paid attendance, a verb that wasn't included in last years reports. See below. http://www.syracuse.com/silver-knig...ights_and_pennsylvania_roar.html#incart_river Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part. what do you guys think?
More likely a figure of speech. Or a nicer way of saying "the announced attendance" which has become shorthand for "there were like 2,200 in the building, but they announced 3,000". And that's not specific to the Knights or the MISL or even indoor soccer.
I think we got those two free vouchers because we originally paid for a 13 game home season, but only ended up getting 10.
Don't they only hold 5,000 at the OnCenter? Good Lord they cannot even draw 3000 Anyone know how the AHL Crunch do?
6,746 in St. Charles today for the Ambush. 2nd largest crowd of the year for them (after the opener).
Watched a bit of the Ambush game on youtube. I guess the weather kept a lot of people home, because it didn't look like 6, 000 in the stands. About a month ago, the StL paper did a story on the Ambush and the owner said that actual paid ticket sales for themis 2500 to 3, 000. The rest are given to sponsors. I think he said they need a bit over 2000 paid to break even.
