This is the first year, we reached to the fourth thread. WC probably had to do with it, but props to all the poster here. WC threads will be close once the WC is over. But remember, from now on, this will be used for schedule, news, personal opinions, etc. Always make a new thread for each game with following title and link them from here. (date) type of match: home team vs. away team [R] example: (09.02.10) Friendly: Korea vs. Japan [R]
I decide that I need to follow J league week in week out to know more about the upcoming youngsters. But I need to have a team to root for, it's boring to watch football as neutral even in top league. Can someone introduce a candidate?
Kashima Antlers... It is the best team in Japan but the two historical members of this forum who support them keep a low profile when it comes to club soccer... We'd really need a hard core Antlers' fan!! The only J1 team we have with no official supporter is Montedio Yamagata... Quite amazing, uh? Maybe we should have another census...?
What do you mean? We are full of news but also regular streamings and highlights. I personally followed Kyoto Sanga (NOT suggested as team to pick!) for years from the US. Maybe you should just enjoy the second part of the season as a neutral fan, and pick a team after!
I like Nakazawa's... he transforms from looking like a scruffy character to a young professor. I've got a man-crush...
Sorry I gotta say Matsui's geek glasses look best. xD. Plus, Nakazawa and his hair, and the fact he wears glasses reminds me of my dad xD.
Congratz to Eiji Kawashima, for making the top 20 in the recent Castrol Football Index. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/world-cup-2010/spain-duo-keys-to-daunting-defence/story-fn4l4vck-1225886813253
He's been looked at because he is the closest we may find to Osim in terms of playing style. I like Bielsa as a target. I'm very uneasy when we're linked with a manager who has only managed truly great teams. Bielsa has managed Chile and got them to get results against Brazil and Argentina in their WCQ. So he knows how to overcome ability differences with the best in the world to get results, also the football is pretty good to watch from Chile.
Del Bosque, Bielsa, Pekerman, Nishino, Jofuku. That is my list of favorites. The players have appreciated the fact that they could talk directly with the coach so I was wondering if it was a better idea to choose a Japanese coach even though he will not have the same credentials as the other candidates.
