Haha evil man I have to say of Okubo , Yano and Tamada I "like" Tamada most. He is not a scorer but he has great teqhnique and speed. And yes he dives alot. I still remember the goal against Brazil in WC 06. Not worth a damn but brought me some happines during the WC. History yes but still a memory.
Does that law only affect PKs or also FKs ? I know Naka fakes at least once (if not 2 or 3 times ) before every free kick.
Isn't it the right time to re-open this thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1254747 ?
http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/soccer/japan/headlines/20100521-00000167-jij-spo.html Yoshi Kawaguchi is captain of Japan 2010 In team camp I can see how that'd be an excellent choice. But I think on the pitch, Okada should appoint a vice-captain as Kawaguchi can't do too much from the bench.
http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/japan/news/p-sc-tp2-20100522-632492.html Successor Jose Pekerman?? Coached the argentinean side that arguably played the best football in the 2006 world cup. And arguably the most successful youth coach ever.
Wow, that would be great! I hope it'll be confirmed as soon as Japan NT will be back from SA (but if they fall off in 1/4 it will be a hard decission )
Tell me it is true, I would be happy to chip in with 10,000 yen for his salary. Also, once I know for sure he will be gone, I can even cheer for Okada. I mean, this is REALLY what we need. Please, please, please let it be true.
JFA technical director Hara is quoted in the article admitting that they are checking his availability currently but won't rush things before after the WC. What I like about it is that no matter if they can sign Pekerman or not, Hara said "this (Pekerman's class) should be what we will be looking for". In the context of Okada already having stated that an extension beyond WC2010 probably won't happen, it seems that both sides (JFA & Okada) have agreed already in the beginning that Okada's tenure is a short-term solution to Osim's health problems. So basically, there seemed to be no possibility of continuation of Okada-Japan anyway.
Cover him with gold, bring him to the islands, PLEASE!!! With so many good youngsters in Japan, can we finally get somebody who knows how to pick and develop players...?? This is also a guy who never lost a game at the WC... (Well, one at PKs...) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/José_Pekerman
I'm familiar with Japan's managers back to Okada 98 and a little about Hans Ooft. But I can't really find a truly world-class manager japan's ever had. Osim seemed the best really. I'm dying to know how japan does with an experienced world class manager. A good tournament could put some icing on the cake for potential targets considering the job.
I think that early Okada the 1st, Zico, Osim and Troussier all did something good for Japan. But it is true, we never had a world-class coach, and it would be about time we get one. Just look at how much South Korea had grown under Hiddnik...
I'm not sure where to put this and I didn't want to start a new thread but the 3 officials for England vs Mexico at the Wembley are Japanese. Iemoto is the one in charge and Nagi and Otuka are the assistants. Are we sending anyone to South Africa?
He seems to have a chequered history, but he's clearly favoured by some within the FA if he's been given this game. I hope he uses the opportunity to shut up some of his critics (managers in the English leagues are mostly pretty ridiculous when it comes to referees) He's only 27 and technically a UEFA referee and not a FIFA one. Interesting given that the FA spammed me with a massive word doc last week about making sure the referee is of the appropriate level to take on high-profile friendly matches. Neale Barry's super-duper "matrix" doesn't cover national team vs national team friendlies though (and unfortunately noone can simply be told what the matrix is >_>)
Uchida, Tamada, Matsui, Inamoto aren't fit for tonight's game. So question is who will Okada put in LM......Kengo, Okubo or Honda with two strikers. Option 1 and 3 we'll be fiiine.
