my bad, but i guess i jinxed Peru,HAHAHAHA

    - Nackers

thats what i'm scared of, if Osim puts other overseas players (most unlikely) they are not going to be used to the team.

Looks like Japan dominated Peru. Nakamura was so lethal as usual with the FKs. Both goals set up by him.

BTW, is the crowd booing the Peruvian national anthem? Even if they aren't, it seems rather disrespectful, unless the mic is picking up a lot of noise.

Japanese people do not boo foreign national anthems. Now, I would like you to say the exact same words to Chinese fans during the AC 2004.

Either way, JNT rely too much on set pieces.

That was actually the Peruvian supporters singing their anthem...incredibly off-beat.

I wonder if Maki will actually start on a scoring spree, now that he has finally broken his duck under Osim Japan...

Well, hallelujah_united answered my question, but I know Japanese fans are usually respectful and I didn't think they'd boo a national anthem. I just didn't expect so many Peruvian fans to be there.

There are many Latin Aemrican workers (mostly Brazilans and Peruvians) in Japan.

I think Inamoto, Koji Nakata and Matsui will play the Kirin Cup in June.

Have listened to his songs before, now I can put a face to the name.

I wouldn't bet on Ina, Matsui or K. Nakata being starters either. The J-Leaguers in their positions are cuurently performing better, and suit Osim's system better.

Especially now that Suzuki and Abe are playing together for their club now and will have a better understanding with each other, it'll be hard for anyone to crack the midfield. K. Nakata might still get a chance because he's versatile but it might be harder for Inamoto.

And poor Ogasawara - his career is going nowhere.

abe was definetely the worst player in the match.
he is vastly overrated and he should be replaced by another defensive midfielder who has great passing vision.
the duo suzuki-abe has been horrible both at club and national team.

endo... he is too good for j-league, but quite average at international level.

I definitely prefer the Suzuki-Hasebe partnership of last season, but I think Suzuki-Abe should be given some more time to gel.

I'm going to go with Matsu on the worst player on the pitch and single out Kaji. Misplaced passes and general ineffectiveness. although to his credit he did run, but not as much as the player he pushed out of position, Komano.

But I really miss seeing Hasebe in the line-up for both Urawa and the NT.

However, I don't really think Osim's system centres a lot on a midfield partnership as well, since all 4 of them were required to move and fill into gaps at all times during the match. And then there's also working with the flank players to overload the flanks on attacks.

I wonder how Endo would perform in a Euro league...

Personally I think Endo is too slow. What do you guys think?

I agree. In J-league he gets a lot of time, which is why he is so effective.

Personally I see him as very effective on set pieces, but in open play he doesn't really stand out in any area. He has a decent touch and ball control, and can rough them up in the J-League, but would Europe's physicality render him ineffective?

    LOL.
When I saw the match on TV, I couldn't remember the guy's name!
Then I found out it was Tatsuya Ishii, and I thought, "No wonder I've seen his face somewhere".He used to be a member of the band "Kome Kome Club".

I agree that Abe isn't a creative player. I prefer Hasebe or Inamoto or Kengo Nakamura to him.

Alex should replace Endo. He is always involved in Japan's goals.
If he hadn't transfered to Salzburg, he would have started as usual.

Koji Nakata is a versatile player that Osim really likes.
Who cares about the Swiss league? But I hear he is playing good for Basel.
He deserves to get a chance in upcoming Kirin Cup.

Matsui needs to get his old form back and then we can talk about him here.

I don't care if Matsui is having a hard time right now, he's still one of the best we've got and should be given more of a chance than he's been given
