Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] I expected Hasebe's presense in this new national squad. He could become the next star. Daigo and Komano deserved to be here as well. Hayuma has made a debut, finally. Addition of other players, such as Matsui for example, could change the team dramatically, so one cannot say for sure that this squad will become the core of his World Cup selection. Nonetheless, his first selection of players, especially midfielders, is very interesting and shows his preference. Osimism! His comments are often poetic and open to interpretation.
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] JFA has added five players to this squad. Sakata, Daisuke (Yokohama F Marinos) Keita is obviously supposed to support Hasebe in the midfield, as that's his role at club level.
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] Daisuke Sakata! Finally But WTF is with this Urawa fetish??? I'm interested in what team he will pick when the euro's are available?
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] Also if half these players can get call up, Akihiro Ienaga surley should get a call-up when Gamba players are available, if not He's been one of the outstanding players this season
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] Isn't he a youth member? Let him play at the olympics first.
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] Kawabuchi should have been sacked himself a long time ago. He looks like he doesn't even have a brain.
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] yeah, and he called the aussie team dirty...that was another reason for australia to win that game in teh world cup
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] The Australians are dirty by nature. Do you know their history?
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] thats a bit harsh don't you think...how bout the americans too...of course i know their history, i studied it ever since i was a kid and i live in the country, but i was talking of football matters, i love japanese football, but i didn't like how kawabuchi called them dirty players...which i think made them become more determined to win the freaking game...and they had hiddink backing the aus team up, australia likes to prove people wrong... and next time kawabuchi needs to watch what he says...
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] I would never deliberately defend Kawabuchi, but surely you should know by now that the "dirty players" quote was manufactured by a sportswriter in Europe, and Kawabuchi never said anything of the sort. This is an issue that has been investigated thoroughly, and by now its about as believable as the story that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction To begin with, Kawabuchi isnt even fluent enough to make small talk in English. Do you really think he could understand the meaning of the word "dirty players"? The fact is, he never said that in English, and he never said anything approximating it in Japanese. This "controversy" was invented by some english-speaning journalist who thought he could sell more newspapers by making up stories than by telling the truth. This fact has been documented in several places (including the Rising Sun News). If folks in Australia still dont know the truth, maybe you should make an effort to start spreading the word. Bashing Kawabuchi (and by extension, insulting Japanese players and fans) on the basis of a PROVEN LIE is not the best way to win friends in Asia. Australians would be wise to take note.
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] Just wondering, I know I'm not in Japan now, but are the next two Asian Cup qualifiers (both AWAY to Saudi Arabia 9/3 and Yemen 9/6) being televised in Japan? I ask because I have checked both the JFA web-site and tvguide.or.jp web-site, and I have not seen ANY listing for either match. Can anyone get some information on this? Please.................. 9/3 - AWAY - Saudi Arabia - 20:30 Kick-off (9/4 - 02:30 Japan time) 9/6 - AWAY - Yemen ------ 16:00 Kick-off (9/6 - 22:00 Japan time) VN
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] Japan vs Yemen will be on TBS I think. Not sure about the Saudi match yet. Saudi was demanding too much money for broadcast rights. http://www.sanspo.com/sokuho/0829sokuho073.html
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] OMG...you coulda just told me in simple words that i was WRONG, and to get my FACTS right...but thanks for correcting me! , well media does wire you up sometimes, we are all victims of believeing nonsense, now lets get over it, however if he did say it, i wouldn't give a shit that much, but i don't like him that why i said that...well stupid me...but ohwell, thats life...life without mistakes is boring
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] OK TV Tokyo finally got the rights to the Japan vs Saudi Arabia game. So it will be on TV Osaka, etc as well.

Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-japan&prov=reuters&type=lgns Goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa and midfielders Tsukasa Umesaki, Takahiro Futagawa, Masahiko Inoha and Daigo Kobayashi have never played for their country. Most reports specifically said 4 new members. I don't know how this article could get it wrong.
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] About time Futagawa got a call-up, Futagawa's awesome, But i'm still going to press this Ienaga thing, and to be honest, i'm really really surprised Bando hasn't been called up, really surprised, He has got to be the single most in-form player in Japan right now
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] http://www.sponichi.co.jp/soccer/news/2006/09/02/04.html Japan will play against Ghana on October 4.
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] オシム監督 年内は欧州組呼ばない Osim won't call European based players by the end of this year, so he'll continue to seek new prospects in J.League.
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] Well that just shows how ********ing unprofesional that world cup team was, The name Nakamura springs to mind, Mr Invisable
Re: 2006 Official Japanese NT Thread [R] Osim has told Europe-based players that they need to join the team by Oct 2nd if they want to play in the Ghana match. Its not an official FIFA match day but there are match days on the 7th and 11th, so some players may come. After their matches on Sept 30th, Matsui and Takahara don't have any matches until Oct. 14th. Shunsuke has a match on Oct 1st, but he is looking into flights. http://sports.yahoo.co.jp/hl?c=sports&d=20060919&a=20060919-00000085-sph-spo
