I believe we do not have a national team tread yet. I just made one.

This will be a tread where we discuss about training camps, announce starting lineup, analyze the games, talk about the manager, etc.

Even though, I put "R" in thread title, if you want to do a live commentary on particular game please make a new thread and make a link from this thread (especially because we have our own forum). This thread is for discussion only!!

Note to mods: please make this thread sticky

    Re: 2006 Japanese NT Schedule

I don't remember these attacking quintet playing together. Have they already? This diamond midfield is less defensive, so 3-5-2 or 4-2-3-1 might be better. Kubo teamed up with Okubo and Tamada in the past, but it seems that Yanagisawa and Takahara are more likely to be chosen as link men at the moment.

Here are some variants of Zico's idea.

Typical 4-4-2 for Matsui and Nakamura as playmakers
    ------Kubo---Yanagisawa----
    -----Matsui----Nakamura----
    ---Fukunishi----Nakata-------
    -Alex--------------------Kaji-
    ---Nakazawa---Miyamoto----

3-5-2 to keep the four midfielders plus Fukunishi
    -----Kubo---Yanagisawa-----
    --------Nakamura------------
    ----Ono-------Nakata--------
    ---Fukunishi---Inamoto-------
    -Nakazawa-Miyamoto-Tanaka-

Matsui and Oguro are Kubo's satellites in this 4-2-3-1.
    -----------Kubo-----------
    -Matsui----------- Oguro--
    ---------Nakamura---------
    -----Fukunishi - Nakata-----
    -Alex-------------------Kaji-
    ---Nakazawa---Miyamoto----

We should have a better left full back...

J's goal poll for the friendly vs the United States

    3-5-2
    -------Kubo---Sato---------
    --------Ogasawara----------
    -Alex------------------Kaji---
    -------Endo---Fukunishi------
    -Nakazawa-Miyamoto-Tanaka-

    4-4-2

    ------Kubo-----Sato------
    ---Ono------Ogasawara---
    ------Endo---Fukunishi----
    -Alex-----------------Kaji-
    ---Nakazawa-Miyamoto---

Does anybody know the venues for the Kirin Cup games? I think the dates are between 10th-14th May but I don't know where

The Scottish FA have accepted an invitation from JFA and I am going to travel to the tournament, but I don't know if I should fly to Tokyo or Osaka.

Any info would be much appreciated ;)

    Gamba 2005,

No offence taken. Not everyone appreciates the beauty of Scotland (which is the majority of the country outside the industrial areas). Just as I am sure I will not like everything in Japan. Some things I will like, some things I will hate, that's the way of the world, but I won't be rude about it

I also think it's more important for Japan to win and boost their confidence before the World Cup. Because Scotland didn't make it to Germany 2006 it's only an opportunity to try new players and different tactics before we start the Euro 2008 qualifying games in September.

Nakazawa and Ogasawara are the most fit players on the team :)

Who wants to wager on which day of training Ono injures himself?

OK. I agree Dundee is not the most picturesque part of Scotland and I have some sympathy for you spending time there.

The Euro draw was very unkind to us, but we will have some great fun when we visit Paris and Rome for the away games:D
