Another interesting thing. Around the stopage time of the 2nd half, the stadium went black out and was stopped for 36 minutes. The league may fine Kofu for the incident.

I was not interested in J2, but Kofu is beyond my expectations. Good luck to them!

    finals from the emperors cup........

Cerezo 5- JEF United 2 (my pick to take it all)
Sanfrecce 0- Shimizu S Pulse 3 (I was shocked! Matsu had these guys winning it and had some compelling arguments as well, I didn`t expect em to get blown up like this)
    Kashima 2-Oita 0
Urawa 2-FC Tokyo 0 (both of last years finalists are out)

Jubilo Iwata and albirex are tied at 1
Nagoya Omiya is locked up at 1
Kawasaki is up 3 to 2 in the extra period over yokohama FM

It's a shocking loss and relegation for Reysol fans... Kashiwa didn't take Kofu seriously and paid the price. Kofu nearly folded a few years back and now deservedly won a promotion to the first division by Bare's double hat trick. What an amazing comeback...

Marinos did not do well in J-League this season, so I expect them Emperos Cup but they lost so early! though Kubo still scored , it is good. Rest enough to prepare for next year!

    Re: 2005 J-League Thread [R] (part II)

    Kashiwa was just fragmented team.
    Anyway Congratulations to Kofu.
Now J2 has teams like Verdy Tokyo, Kobe, Sapporo, Sendai, Kashiwa and Shonan which played in J1 past. I couldn't imagine this.
(addition)but We have now relegation system so it is unavoidable

Typical Cerezo, when the pressure is off, and the competition means less and we're on the road, we produce the fantastic result we should have done last week at home against FC Tokyo when the championship was ours for the taking. Bloody Hell!

    http://www.tkc.co.jp/senkei/0408/interview.htm

This is an interview with the CEO of Ventforet Kofu took place in summer of 2005. He tells the story of how he changed a club that was about to be shut down to a club who can fight for J1 promotion. This is in Japanese, but shows how it's very important for clubs to get supports not only from local fans, but from local business and local government (grass root support).

Is it definitely the case that J2 next year will be 48 games long, with Ehime having joined?

Gamba beat Kashiwa 5-3 ................Kashiwa was up 3-2 but Gamba got 3 back in the last 10 minutes...........Araujo had 2 of the 3 to tie the game and put icing on the cake.

I just picked an epoch 2005 Kashima Antlers Ogasawara figure. Does anybody know who else is in the set or where I can find other figures? Epoch.gr.jp has no mention of this series. I picked up a MBOMA Vissel kobe the other day and I'm starting to collect.

How Gamba with Miyamoto seems to concede goals so easily?
