He's one of those players that every club needs....an honest, hard working player. Kinda like a Pal Dardai.

Polak so far, seemingly has shown none of these qualities.

    Maybe with time he will.

Meyer avoided relegation with Gladbach a couple seasons, and "saved" Hertha two seasons ago (although I don't think he was any great shakes), so he would seem to be a good choice. I know Gladbach fans have a lot of respect for the guy.

Is he a short-term option (although aren't all coaches, especially FCN coaches, short-term options)? IIRC, Meyer wanted to retire.

He has a contract til the end of the season, but if they stay in the league it'll extend another year.
And I think it's at least the 2nd time that he stepped out of retirement, was the same when he joined Herhta 2 yrs ago.

Not bad. Not bad at all. Tactics won't be a problem. I hope the players respond to him.

Helped us survive in 03/04...I love this coach, he's perfect for a relegation dogfight (kinda like a Harry Redknapp before he failed in Southampton). Lets hope he doesn't suffer a same fate in Nurnberg.

Watched the first session with him on the Trainingground today, i gotta say i am very optimistic.

i saw a few this season with wolf, but this was all different.he interrupts training, describes the players what to and what not to do...overall...it's just that he is taking more response of the whole training, not leaving everything to his co.

    hans meyer, rescue us! :D

I think he will. When he took over Hertha in 03/04, we were doing zippo. Somehow, he was able to get the team together. He is a good motivator. Those players who don't follow (like Luizao or Bart Goor) were told to beat it. Players who did heed him (like Roberto Pinto and Alex Madlung) will get their chance regardless of how good they are or how good they were.

He'll know whats right. If Polak doesnt produce, don't expect him to be there for long.

I hope the young players get to learn from this man. TOLH is right. If players don't produce, Meyer will sit them no matter what their names are.

Meyer will play the players who play for the club.

According to "The Guardian", Manchester City is also very interested in FCN's Stefan Kiessling.

    --------------------

Stuart Pearce has his eyes on a more costly youngster: Nuremberg's
21-year-old striker Stefan Kiessling will set City back GBP4m.

    ---------------------

At today's exchange rate, that's just under six million Euros.

I'll bet that's news to Bayer Leverkusen! LOL!! ;)

seems like you can post only image tag per post...i saw the match live at the betze with some friends (impressive stadium, very beautiful), i really ahd the feeling we're going down after seeing the results (bielefeld leading, köln in front, our match only 1:1), but after scoring those 2 late goals and bayern winning at the alm and schalke drawing köln, well...pure emotions, amazing atmosphere  we'll make it!!

I haven't heard about this but i'd be surprised seeing how Cacau was treated with you guys.

But Mintal is back in training, that could help solve a few problems :)

I was laughing so hard at that original quote, I forgot to respond. I was really following FCN "closely" during that time. I agree with Vfbstuttgartfan. I don't think Cacau will ever think of playing for FCN again. Especially while that f#cking idiot clown Michael A. Roth is still running the club.

Vfbstuttgartfan. Is VfB really thinking about loaning out Cacau?? Why?

If so, give BVB a call! They'll take Cacau before Ailton!!!!

I feel he was a one-year wonder and will probably impede Kiessling's progress.........

But that is just my opinion.
