Just when you think Two Buttons and the idiots that believe the shit that comes out of his mouth can't look any dumber.... I submit exhibit A ^^^ JFC! I mean they continually embarrass themselves with all the stupid shit they say. Literally the biggest posers in the game.
I mean I don't know what to say to that. They amaze me with the amount of narcissistic futility and pious claptrap they can drum up in their puerile brains.
LaughLame says its a "cathedral" of soccer, but its really more like a storefront mission. Except those tend to be downtown.
Maybe he meant it like one of those "cathedrals" that take over the empty Sears store at the abandoned mall.
Let me guess, precourt will be the "evangelist" during mass at the cathedral? Go ahead, keep glorifying something that has no history, no traditions, and no backbone behind it. You morons are the ultimate soccer wannabes. Keep trying to grow your authentic fuc*ing legend. The toxic waste dump water may kill that old live oak tree that looks more like broccoli. At some point you will realize that precourt, and you believers, did this all wrong from day 1.
Notice the differences? Early drawings they used to get project approved & drum up excitement about a world class facility. The other is what is getting built. Looks like quite a bit of downsizing of buildings and what not. Cost cutting? Bait and switch? Certainly not 2 things we would expect out of Precourt now would we?
The snack shack/mower shed has been much expanded. They seem to have bailed on the silos, possibly because they repurposed that building from team offices to a "beer hall" after they saw Columbus was building one. And are those cables which seem to be keeping the roof from falling down permanent?
So much effort, and detail, was put into the design of the roof structure. Everything below the roof looks like a generic suburban high school, or middle school, stadium, especially the pole barn snack stand! Maybe Tony should have simplified the roof structure, and spent more on the seating areas and concession areas? Total amateurs make mistakes like this....
Every building was downsized. And the barn thing is literally the cheapest thing I have have ever seen for a stadium. They probably just bought a kit from Menard's for $25,000. But as I said some time ago, the rodeo folks will feel right at home. I think they shot their wad on goofy roof and immediately had to cut corners everywhere else. To me it looks like nothing more than a D2 football stadium with a roof. I mean put that roof over West Texas State A&M 's or Western KY's stadium and there isn't a whole lot of difference.
But, but, but.......they keep telling everyone that this will be a "World Class" stadium, a "state of the art" facility, a "cutting edge" MLS stadium. "Best in class" I believe. Surely they wouldn't just, you know, blatantly lie because the maroons down in Austin will swallow anything they tell them?
Y'all are forgetting about those high-tech ventilated seats. That's best in class and state of the art ass-cooling technology, right there. Haters.
Who writes this garbage? There is literally not one word here that is true., Everything now is moving smoothly for Austin soccer supporters. The organization has everything ticking like clockwork as the MLS soccer palace at Austin’s McKalla Place gets readied for opening day. No longer a cathedral, now a palace The bitter fight to get here has been forgotten. That fight started in 2018 after Austin City Council members slowly, somewhat reluctantly, approved plans to open the MLS franchise. The bitter part started when supporters of Columbus Crew realized the plan was to remove their franchise – the first MLS team – and move it to Austin. A lawsuit invoking a 1996 Ohio law was invoked. This prevented a taxpayer-supported pro team moving from the state without a six-month notice offering the team to new owners who’d let it stay put. Team owner Precourt Sports Ventures counter-sued to get their way. Completely untrue. But at some point observers convinced both sides to stop making this so hard. Ridiculous lie. Just offer the team for sale. If no one buys, load the trucks and head to Texas. Precourt decided to see how the law worked. No, he did not. Someone bought the Crew and kept them in Columbus. When MLS saw what happened, the league almost immediately granted Precourt and Austin a new MLS franchise. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA So far, everyone is a winner. With preparations for the 2021 opening coming soon, Austin FC and supporters plan to keep it that way. https://mlsmultiplex.com/2020/10/26/austin-fc-expansion-team-ready/
I hope the writer isn't getting paid for this journalistic piece of garbage. Talk about rewriting history the way you want it to read. I would think precourt is at it again, paying off a third rate journalist, trying to erase, or change, portions of his failed attempt to steal our team. We will never forget what actually happened.
