Maybe the lesson here is: "Dont f*** with Gianni Infantino." (That would be funny if it weren't an eerily possible retribution.)
Something about moderators. DarkKnight reports something similar. Can you post a link to the article?
HERE IT IS! From deep inside your internet device of choice: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/welcome-back-fifa-power-and-money.2111417/ Link is working for me.
Scottish Football's Civil War is on the Blog home page for me. And then all I see are articles from the same author, David Bolt, as suggested articles "From the Blog". When I click the "View More News" button, I start getting articles from 2018, 2017, 2020 that seem to be arranged in no particular order. And the "Authors" page comes up blank. I'm using Chrome, version 85.0.4183.102.
WTF? When on my phone and I click the link I posted, here’s what I get: I can read the whole article. No idea why it says “removed from public view”.
Link works for me but I couldn't see it on the front page of the blog section of BS. Note this at the bottom: "(You have insufficient privileges to reply here.) Thread Status: Removed from public view. Not open for further replies."
What if I try the good ol' cut-and-paste: (Put in a quote so it is expandable) Does this work? Edit: I can read it. Yeah, I know cut-and-pastes of whole articles is frowned upon. At least the Crew masses can read it. I'm assuming you're ok with that, Bill. A Supermod will have to figure out the Front Page issue.
There are several members of the Austin FC front office that moved to Austin from New York, some having left the MLS offices. Healey is coming from ESPN. People are leaving good gigs to be involved with Austin FC, so what you are saying is way off. This is true outside of soccer as well. Austin is the fastest-growing city in the country and a lot of those people are coming from "big time" places like NY and LA.
Congratulations, that all sounds so wonderful. Austin is truly on its way to being a "big time" city. Unfortunately, Austin's MLS club is led by anthony preshort. So even though professional soccer will continue to be a a failure in Austin, the city still has some other very positive business metrics, and some amazing transplants from NYC and LA. I am sure you will continue to enjoy a wonderful life in Austin, even though the MLS club will fail miserably.

Interesting that in a craft beer/brewery market they went with something like this than a local option. I guess money talks.
We all know Andy Loughnane's strategy: Don't do the smart thing, or the local thing, or the logical thing: Do the thing that gets the most money upfront. Related: The man is an absolute label whore.
OMG. I don't know shit about beers, but even I know how bad that is. Wait.... didn't Lance Armstrong do a commercial for them back in his heyday? He's Authentically Austin, right? Ok, that makes more sense now. So they'll have an official Domestic Beer, and official Imported Beer, and maybe an imported Craft Beer and that's where they'll fleece some local brewery to provide them with free or next to free product?
Does Ultra go well with Queso? Will there be an Ultra fountain next to the Queso fountain? Then again, we haven't heard much about that Queso fountain that FatFace McSkidmark kept promising them. I wonder if it'll be in the 1998 Holiday Inn lobby they claim is a beer hall.
By many accounts, because they could no longer handle the crowded, competitive and cutthroat nature of those cites or the overpriced real estate and taxes. Only to cause Austin to become overpriced & crowded. Not to mention they brought their political/economical ideologies with them that are counter to what made Texas attractive to begin with. They did it in Seattle, Portland and now Austin. Sounds like a place I want to avoid.
Andy when we said to be an authentic soccer club we needed Ultras, we didn't mean the beer you moron.
This response: 1311006461888049152 is not a valid tweet id Who should break the news that those assclowns named Tony and Andy took away $1 beer night? They told many of us that they didn't want to run promotions because they didn't "want to devalue the product." But as we know, they didn't want to run promotions because they were all about sabotaging things. I'm fully expecting all sorts of promotions for that mess of a team once that "new team factor" wears off and everyone realizes it's a hot steaming festering pile of hot elephant dung that they can only get to via a terrible train and a long-ass walk in Texas heat. I have no idea who they're trying to draw in with this beer. Hipsters? Elderly women who have been drinking it for the past 30 years? It's mind-boggling.
They really missed the boat here. I would think White Claw would be a better fit considering their target demo. Or possibly PBR. Local craft IPA's are so 18 months ago. And why would they expect dollar beer nights? If the place is sold out every game, what do you need promos for? They should have $20 beer night.
