They had FCK until recently when the bonehead mznzgement reslized that nobody wanted to pay 20 bucks a month for it.

Nothing more shocking than settling in to zone on some tube for a bit only to scroll through 8,750 shows and not finding one damn thing worth watching

    No kidding.

Though, I won't lie: When I just want to zone out I generally go to HBOMax and their catalog of Turner Classics.

    Or Cheers.

Traveling by air for the first time since pre-COVID, I was in Tampa and was wearing a Crew mask. There was a guy on the tram who said "I like your mask, I just realized what the logo is." We chatted about the Crew. He said that he was from Austin and that he was a season ticket holder. He had to explain to a traveling companion about the "special relationship" that Austin has with Columbus. I stated that in all my years in Columbus, I had never seen a city council meeting live stream, but I've seen a couple from Austin! I asked if there were "things to do" around the McKalla stadium and they said yes. Interesting, they said that UT dominates Austin downtown and there was no chance of having the stadium them. We wished each other well and agreed that next season would be one to look forward to.

Meeting a "Tree FC" fan is something that I knew would happen eventually. I'm pleased that my anger has subsided enough that I could carry on a respectful conversation with them. I feel that it was a good way to put that moving madness firmly in the past. It was a catharsis that was not expected.

Now my memory is in a hungover haze right now, but I do not think this is technically true. GGG was suspended a game back in 2017 (completely warranted btw) and Josh was the 'interim' head coach for the following game against TFC. So I think the proper thing to say here would be that ol' Joshy has never won a single game as head coach in MLS, and is on a traitorous level similar to Tyson Wahl.

And as you said, these guys are gonna suck BIGLY.

Because I am so used to disappointment with this league, it would not surprise me if Sinclair bought up the the rights for everyone. Put them on the necessary RSN in certain markets and OTA in the rest, then throw match replays on their STIRR app next to re-runs of Battlestar Galactica.

Oh, the league could definitely find a way to sign that contract.

I've stated elsewhere that I'm hopeful the league uses this opportunity to "meet the fans where they are." The easier they make it for fans to that want to watch their games in the ways they want to watch them, the better. The 190k average viewership indicates they don't have much to lose.

    Serious question -

What hire could Austin FC make that you would consider a good one?

Tropical Storm Sally meant our Sunday weather was colder (80) and rainy, but that didn't stop us from being in the pool and at the beach. Enjoy your trip!

I think the Josh Wolff hire makes sense. First time coaches are always a gamble but he's had positive feedback on his time here. It was only a matter of time before someone took a chance on him.

Hey, that's now a feature. Where else can you tailgate INSIDE the stadium?

Considering the blather about "ambition" and wanting to be the next Atlanta, you should have expected someone with actual head coaching experience.

But, in typical Fratass McTrustfund reality, he went cheap.

Is it the same fuzzy math that Austin vomited about? 50k/8 = 6,250 actual deposits?
Didn't Austin translate their deposits into like an actual 2.2 seats bought per deposit? so in 24 hours ~14k seats sold. that's pretty impressive.

I really hope the Crew can sell ~15k season tickets, but not sure with the premium pricing that the demand is there.
