I was actually thinking of my travel plans , when I read the announcement yesterday. If the bargaining agreement will not be resolved this will be the only hockey we'll see in 2004.

My travel planes are set for this month: I am off to Finland to cover the worlds. I don't know what will happen a year and a half from now but that trip to St.Paul for USA-Russia seems very, very tempting.

If I make it, first 3 rounds are on me ,(your choice of poison , Gentlemen) but methinks ,that my tugriki we'll be better spent on semis and finals being an eternal optimist , and hoping that YAKUSHEV will actually lace up those funny leather booties wid' sharp things attached to them , and show the wannabe's of 21st century how to deke out entire opposition's five. Only Kharlamych,in his day, couldda done it better. Shurik , if you see him or Mihailov in sunny Suomi , tell'em : " Nikto ne zabyt , nichto ne zabyto." Meanwhile ,in honor of aforementioned announcement, I might dust off the Fedorov #91 - Rossiya jersey to pull on for the Ducks - Avalanche affair tonight. BTW your Shurik is a tribute to immortal Vitsin-Nikulin-Morgunov character or Pelevin's Chapaev's buddy?

That would be the first one, my friend.

I will definitely see Yakushev in Suomi, as he is the national team's assistant coach.
