It's 2 AM, night before the championship game, I can't sleep, I can't work on my paper that is due tommorow cause I can't get my mind off the game. My solution? Starting drinking! Haha, I'm so screwed.

I'm just so pumped, Syracuse is goin down, Roy's getting his ring, and Hinrich is getting MVP so he can have his jersey next to Nick's and Drew's.

I think it needs to be lumped into the add to your post count thread. When was the last time you were in the Wiz forum?

Good luck to KU-this is hard for a Mizzou fan to say, but if it can't be my Tigers, then it has to be the 'Hawks. As for Roy, he will get his ring and then pack it up for Chapel Hill!

Any lawrence folks decided on a bar in which to watch the game? I'd rather not deal with the idiots, but if, nay, WHEN we win, I want to be in the thick of it!

Well I had to work in Lawerance today and at 9:30 there were people lined up infront of Jeffersons and a few other bars downtown.

The good news for KU fans is that Roy will be back next year. There's no way he's going to leave KU without a ring.

    Well that game sucked!

Refs were making some poor calls in the first half. But that cant be an excuse when you lose by 3 and miss 18 free throws.

Hope Roy doesn't leave. Although, his career is begining to look like Marty Schottenhiemer's. He's always in the big dance, but he always leaves with the ugly girl instead of the prom queen.

Weren't there rumors that Marty, in fact, was banging some prom queen? From one of the Blue Valley high schools if I remember correctly? :D

Don't give up on Roy. We went through a similar thing in Nebraska with Tom Osborne. He could never win the "big one". Then he won three national championships in four years.

Maybe Roy can do the same thing, at KU rather than UNC.

Roy's a class act. When you shoot 40 % from the FT line, and your opponents hit from 3 point line like mcnamara, you have to be good to be within 3 points.

Congrats to Cuse. GO Jayhawks! Good luck to Collison and Hinrich.

    THANKS.

Maybe KU didn't have enough "want-to". In all seriousness though work today is like a funeral home. Everybody's down and touchy about the subject. I say KU had an awesome run at it and sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way.
Congrats to the 'Hawks on a good year and we'll see what happens with this year's edition of the Roy Williams saga!

    Ahh,
I know how much you have missed me and my sweeping generalizations, drunkenly ludicrous harassment of opposing teams (equaled only by Spoon and Freddy) and threats of class war, but I have finally had a chance to browse the boards for the first time in months.
The KU game was watched with vigor and enthusiasm at our little Free State outpost in Brooklyn. I stayed up watching the whole game with two of my roommates--one drunk on a pint of tequila, the other an unfortunately hilarious victim of copious amounts of Heineken. The game sucked. As much as it disappointed me, KU didn't deserve to win. Heinrich was off his game. Collison was off his game. Langford sucked. After the Marquette game, it was an embarrassment. But there were bright moments, and at least KU threatened to come back. Had they come back, it would have proved their real merit this season, but the final score reflected the truth. Syracuse deserved to be the National Champions after spanking the Big 12 and outplayed KU. I was happy to see Roy as a good sportsman and a classy coach. He'll have more chances at the Big Dance, especially with the underclassmen he fielded last night. So to hell with basketball. Thank god the season is over and we can finally get on to a real man's sport.
It was a good farewell to the Free State. I was sad that KU didn't win so that the frat boys could finish the job Quantrill started, but alas, it was not to be. Let's hope the Wizards can do better than the Jayhawks.

    Cheers,
    Tom
